Nestled in across from Sugar Mountain this property is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or for a small family who wants a little adventure in the mountains of North Carolina. After hiking or skiing all day relax in the evening by the gas fireplace or soak in the private hot tub outside and gaze at the stars. Close to Grand Father Mountain, Blowing Rock, Linville Falls, Tweetsie Railroad, and many other attractions. Less than 5 minute drive to Sugar Mountain Ski Lodge and downtown Banner Elk where there are plenty of great restaurants.

About The Owner

My wife and I are Realtors in the Charlotte area. We love the mountains and getting away. Often we leave Charlotte and head to the mountains. We are always amazed at the sights and drop of temperature in a two and a half hour drive.

The Owner purchased this chalet in 2004
Why The Owner chose Sugar Mountain

We chose this area for snow skiing and the beautiful sites that the High Country offers. There are several ski resorts close by and the largest one in NC is across the street 'Sugar Mountain'. Grand Father Mountain is less than a 10 minute drive and it has unbelievable views. Grand Father Mountain also has a mile high swinging bridge and wildlife habitats to include bears, deer, and all kinds of other animals.

What makes this chalet unique

Location, Location, Location it is here. Across the street from Sugar Mountain. 5 Minute drive to downtown Banner Elk. 10 Minute drive to Grand Father Mountain and several other hiking trails and water falls in the nearby area.

My favorite restaurant in Banner Elk is Sorrento's which is downtown. After a wonderful meal, I love the hot tub on a cold night. Listening to the sound of the blowing of snow on Sugar Mountain and soaking in the hot tub is very relaxing.

This is the place. If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful and intimate condo, then look no further. If you're going to Sugar Mountain, it's just across the street. Beech and Appalachian Mountains are close as well. This one bedroom has it all. For the four of us, my wife and two children (ages 8 and 10), it was great. The living room with sleeper sofa, dining area and kitchen are on the second floor and the bedroom and bath are upstairs. The hot-tub, just outside of the dining area, was perfect, after a long day of skiing. It's about 5 minutes to downtown Banner Elk and about 30 minutes to Boone. In Banner Elk, Zuzda (make a reservation) and Bayou Smokehouse and Grill, were two of our dinner spots and both were exceptionally good. Enjoy and have a great time.

Perfect romantic ski weekend :)

We loved this rental and are already planning to go again! The owner was a pleasure to deal with, the rental was clean and well equipped and completely cute! The gas fireplace and the hot tub made it such a lovely environment to come back to after a long ski day. The rental was incredibly close to the slopes and very private feeling. We truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next adventure here!!

It had a very homey feel to it. Definitely romantic, and the hot tub was the best part. It stayed hot eventhough it was 20 degrees outside. It is in such a convenient spot, near food lion, restaurants, and literally 2 minutes from sugar mountain. I would recommend this place to anyone for an awesome vacation house!

This chalet is the perfect place for couples! It is located in the perfect spot, only a minute or two from the entrance to the sugar mountain slopes! There are multiple ski equipment rentals nearby. The pictures do not do the place justice. It is very clean and has all the ammenities you can ask for! We would definately love to stay here again!

Everything we were looking for....

We booked the condo for a ski trip. Great location to Sugar Mountain and Banner Elk. The place was cute, cozy & clean. The kitchen was well equipped with everyday essentials, better than other vrbo rentals I have had in the past. Enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day. The square footage may not be large but we had plenty of room for my family of three & could have added one more. Great stay! We will be back!!
