Enjoy this back-to-basics 5 star deluxe camping experience in a field of wild blueberries, on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Northumberland Straight. New construction features wrap-around porch, dining room/kitchen with propane powered stove and refrigerator, connected by a breezeway to a large living/sleeping room which will comfortably sleep up to 6 adults in sleeping bags or air mattresses with banks of floor to ceiling windows, newly constructed outhouse and outdoor private shower area, solar-heated rain water for washing, well water provided for drinking and cooking. Outdoor small, metal screened wood fire place, as well as, charcoal BBQ. Pets welcome. Pick-up and return to Ferry wharf is included (please check ferry website for schedule). There is a beautiful, private beach at the bottom of the cliff and a charming public beach about 2 miles up the road. Plenty of opportunities to commune with nature - long hikes on isolated beaches and shoreline, plus amazing wildlife to see - seals and bald eagles to name.

The property is spectacular. The only power is solar. There is a wonderful newly constructed outhouse-- private and w/an amazing view. There is a privacy structure for washing-via a solar heated shower or rain water which is collected in nearby barrels. Kitchen is equipped with propane fueled refrigerator and stove. Island caretaker provides well water to supplement rain barrels. There are cooking utensils, pots pans, etc. There are camping chairs and various camping furniture.

We'll arrange for the property caretaker to drive you to and from the cottage, he will explain how everything works, provide drinking water, etc.

It is a fishing community (permanent residents almost all fish for a living). There is regular ferry service, grocery deliveries available, excellent cell service -you can charge your phones in the community center which also houses internet access and a library. People usually arrive w/some groceries/ice and have the rest delivered, depending on length of stay.

There is a beautiful, private beach at the bottom of the cliff and a charming public beach about 2 miles up the road.
