The Periwinkle Cottage is a traditional cottage with a warm, inviting charm throughout. From the moment you step inside, you'll be reminded of a getaway cottage you visited during a childhood vacation. The living room has cozy knotty-pine walls and there are wood floors in all rooms except the bathroom. It's like a step back in time, but equipped with today’s modern conveniences. The home was completely renovated with a new metal roof, electrical, plumbing, bathroom and kitchen appliances.

Inside, furnishings include newer items mixed with antiques and some collectibles, new beds and linens, a fully stocked kitchen and a full collection of books on a variety of subjects for both adults and children. We’ve even added a large deck for relaxing outside, a BBQ pit for grilling! The landscaped yard is fenced and a great area for kids to play outside. We’ve tried to think of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

And so far, the feedback from our guests is unanimous: Periwinkle Cottage is a fun place to stay! Many of our returning guests have come to regard the comfortable cottage as their “home” away from home. Kids especially love the built-in alcove bunk beds in the second bedroom. Each bed has a built-in night stand with individually controlled lights so you can read a book or play a game without disturbing your bunk-mate. The bunks were designed with grown-ups in mind too; with 36' of head-room they’re roomy enough to not bump your head. And the kitchen is just as cheerful as it could possibly be; with bright and fun retro colors and with coordinated linens, the space reminds you that you're on vacation and supposed to be having fun!

We take pride in keeping the Periwinkle Cottage in tip-top shape and ready for guests on a moment’s notice. We personally check-in our guests, so that we can give you a tour and explain where everything is located. We often provide guidance for locating the favorite places to eat, as well as information about local family attractions. And we’re always available if there are any questions or concerns that arise during your stay, because we live in the neighborhood (just a few blocks away).

The cottage was very cozy. Clint was very accommodating and attentive.
The kitchen was very well outfitted and I enjoyed making my dinner there several nights.
Overall it was a nice place to stay but what really made it fun and relaxed was the little patio. Perfect for hanging out and especially at night with the lights. Made for a perfect dinner spot. Would definitely recommend. Tip to other travelers: there is a DVD player in the TV and a conveniently a Redbox right at the local Kroger's 4 minutes away.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Our family loved the Periwinkle Cottage, the pictures of the house are very good but it is much better in person. Our girls (2 and 6) really enjoyed the bunk beds and the backyard. Our oldest has now claimed this as "our" vacation home. Everything is provided for your stay, the house was very clean and comfortable (beds are fabulous). We were minutes away from all of the major attractions and we actually walked to the beach too. The kitchen is gorgeous with lots of natural light and my husband loved using their new grill. We are already planning our return trip. Thank you Clint for making our stay so enjoyable.
