Aloha! E komo mai. Nou ka hale. Welcome to our Bid Island home, or hale (pronounced HA-LAY). Located in Volcano Village, and just minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, we invite you to make our house your home away from home during your next visit.

Hale Hubner is perfect for friends, couples, and small groups or families that wish to experience the Puna lifestyle at its best. We also offer a retreat for Kama'aina looking to get away. Comfortably nestled in the verdant hapu'u fern and ohia rainforest, you will find our location offers relaxing comfort and privacy all the while keeping you close to the variety nearby attractions the Big Island has to offer.

Our house is a cozy 750 sq ft studio-style custom-built 1 bed/1 bath that sleeps 2-4 people comfortably. The warm pine wood interior naturally juxtaposes the green views of lush vegetation visible from all the large picture windows throughout the house.

A spacious sun deck greets you as you exit the house, and provides excellent views of the vibrant stars during the dark evenings. On clear nights, the glow of Kilauea's Halema'uma'u crater is just visible through the tree line!

A master bed area is walled off for your privacy, and a queen-size futon in the main living area folds out to provide a second bed for additional travelers. The main living/sleeping area is located on the second level of the house and is only accessible by stairs; therefore, we are unfortunately not accessible for visitors with disabilities that prevent the climbing of steps. For families wishing to stay with us, we prefer at least one adult per child please.

This cottage feels very unique as it is nestled in the thick of Hawaii's forest next to Volcano Nat'l Park and still close enough to towns that it is not inconvenient.The house was stocked with all necessary kitchen supplies and feels clean and well taken care of. It accentuates the island experience with an amazing feel and high value.

well equipped cottage in prime location, very private. Bountiful bird life will keep you company as you luxuriate on rhe private deck. We found a free hula show at Kilauea Military Camp's Lava Lounge.

Secluded spot yet very close to Volcano National Park

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at Hale Hubner. We spent a great deal of our time in Volcano National Park. We were happy to have a place to head back to after a full day of hiking on volcanic rock that was within minutes of the park rather than having to drive back to the other side of the island. Hale Hubner was clean and in good condition. The bed was a Tempurpedic so excellent if that is comfy for you. There was a good selection of games and movies too. We would recommend this to our friends! Matt was great in answering questions about Volcano and Hawaii in general.

We could not have asked for a more perfect spotty spend our honeymoon. This home is absolutely amazing! So very beautiful and supplied with everything and anything one might need for their Big Island adventures. Thank you so much for all the thought that you put into the supplies left for us to use at your home. While in Volcano, we hiked the crater and also hiked out to the lava flows! AMAZING!! We even got to poke flowing lava with a stick! We also spent a lot of time at the Kalapana Ranch. We most definitely will love returning to the Big Island in the future and hope to return to your home here! Mahalo!
