Our property caters to gardeners, nature lovers, birdwatchers, artists, writers and people who appreciate a stress free, tranquil setting. The rental Villa has the most comfortable king-size mattress in Costa Rica! The second bedroom loft has two twin beds and private upstairs patio.

The villa sits in a working citrus farm and is surrounded by a private eleven-acre botanical garden. This two-bedroom Balinese style Villa has a kitchenette and outdoor Jacuzzi. All artwork and decorative items were purchased during travels in Indonesia, Thailand, China, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and Central America. The villa has a spectacular view of the Alto Cedral Cloud Forest, which begins on the mountain across from the Villa and continues into Panama. All you view is rainforest and it appears endless. The view to the left looks over the town of Orosi into Tapanti Rainforest. The view to the right looks over the Continental divide at the famed Mountain of Death.

Laundry services are available at reasonable rates. Please download the map to the Villa from our Web Site.

About the owners: We, Steve and Nancy Riley, recently built the rental Villa, which rests 25 yards from our home. We also provide real estate services for those wishing to retire in a living Eden, home construction services and landscaping services. Visit our web site for more details.

Why visit Orosi? The Orosi Valley is a landscape of topical hues. The rainforest of Tapanti and the Alto Cedral Cloud Forest paint a background of various shades of green, teeming with wildlife. Every turn of the road provides a new diversity of colors and terrain. Located south of Cartago, the Orosi Valley is a true jewel. Famous for its beautiful views, colonial churches, coffee farms, white water rivers, hot springs and Lake Cachí, the Orosi Valley and surrounding towns are like a birthday present, waiting to be opened. The small quaint villages offer a unique location where you can relax and enjoy a real slice of Costa Rican life. During coffee picking season, September through January, the valley comes to life. The pickers can be heard singing and talking in the fields as they pick the worlds best coffee.

It is easy to book activities such as: guided local tours, mountain biking, horse back riding, hiking, water rafting, and other interesting activities to keep active during the day. For detailed information on local tours, visit our web site.

Orosi Valley Self Guided Tours

The Orosi Valley and surrounding areas have many different tours, which can take up to a week to see all of the local attractions. Of the top 20 things to do in Costa Rica, four are in or near the Orosi Valley, numbers six, seven, eight and nine.

About Stephen and Nancy Riley

We are Steve and Nancy Riley. We purchased this property in 1994 and built our first home in 2004. The villa was built in 2005.

Stephen and Nancy Riley purchased this villa in 1994

Why Stephen and Nancy Riley chose Orosi

Nancy ripped out over 40,000 coffee trees to plant our gardens. The view, location, climate and Costa Rican people made this property our choice for our retirement home.

We have stayed at VRBO places in a number of places and this is by far the best jewel we have come across. Everything is perfect. Nancy has it decorated beautifully and it is equipped with everything you could ever need. The bed is soooo comfortable. The location is a wonderful temperate climate, there are lots of things to do - we enjoyed Tapanti national park and enjoyed hiking and seeing lots of tropical birds. The property is amazing. Acres and acres of an amazing botanical garden, with lots of trails. The adorable dogs will show you all the paths! We also went to Irazu volcano, again an easy day trip, where we saw beautiful birds, flora

and fauna. And the view was amazing. Steve and Nancy are the most gracious hosts. They are totally friendly, knowledgable and even made us fresh buns! We would go back there in an instant, and I don't think I can say that about any other VRBO places I have stayed at - so that says it all!

Home Sweet Home.

  • 5 of 5

My only regret is that I did not stay more than the 3 days I was there. Quaint...Cozy...Lush...Comfortable....Very affordably priced. If you want peace and tranquility this is the place. Very gracious hosts in Steve and Nancy. I highly recommend this gem for anyone that is considering it.

memorable vacation

  • 5 of 5

This is indeed a paradise. Beautiful villa, ideal for families with kids. Steve and Nancy are excellent host and eager to help and guide to make the stay a memorable one. I was little concerned about the trip, since it was my first trip to Costa Rica. But Steve helped to arrange for an excellent guide and car to take us around. Kids fell in love with the place and the 3 dogs (My younger one wanted to take them home!!). Also loved the freshly baked rolls that were waiting for us, when we returned from sightseeing everyday. Look forward to stay here again.

BEST VACATION

  • 5 of 5

This was by far the best place we have ever stayed. The owners were more than kind....very helpful...even baked some bread and chicken for us! The Orosi valley is drop dead gorgeous, as is Nancy's garden. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay another 2 weeks! I look forward to returning.

Best vacation week ever!

  • 5 of 5

This place is aptly named -- Paradise Peak. It is indeed paradise. There is not one thing, or one experience that I think could be improved upon. The villa itself is exceptional quality thoughtfully and carefully done right down to the delightful "frog" washbasin in the washroom. Having the hot tub on the porch (which we used every day!) was a wonderful way to end each day -- looking out over the garden and valley. Steve and Nancy anticipated every possible need and went the extra mile to make our stay unforgettable -- one day we returned from sightseeing and found freshly baked bread left for us on the counter (made by Steve)! The only regret we have is that we didn't book a second week at Paradise Peak. Thank you, Nancy and Steve for an amazing honeymoon experience. We're looking forward to our return!

Paradise and beyond!

  • 5 of 5

Paradise Peak villa on Steve and Nancy's "tropical plant finca" was a dream come true. The beauty of the villa, accommedations, amenities and the property all sum up to a magnificent place to stay. There are plenty of activites in the surrounding area; overlooks, historical, rainforest, cloud forest, shops, bars, restaraunts and more. We (my husband and I) enjoyed driving around all the little towns, waving at all the friendly people, relaxing and taking in the gorgeous views from narrow winding mountain roads. We enjoyed all the attention from the 3 lady rotti's as we were missing our own pets. They are super well behaved and friendly. You could see they enjoyed meeting and keeping company with the new guests. Steve and Nancy are super friendly, helpful and interesting people to spend time with. Don't forget to spend time in the tropical gardens on the property and sample friuts straight from the trees. Our 4 nights there were definitely not enough...we didn't want to leave. We will just have to come back soon!
