Built in 1900, the house retains many original features including stucco walls, plaster ceilings, hard wood floors, wainscoting, antique lighting fixtures and claw foot tubs.

Spacious inside, and a large backyard outside—a true luxury for a downtown property. It's also just a few hundred yards away from the wonderful Shore Path, a two-mile walkway along the ocean in Bar Harbor.

The Libby House is situated on a private way off of center Main Street in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor. From our front door, you are truly a 4 minute walk from many of the most popular in-town attractions and activities including: the harbor, the Shore Path, the town beach, all three municipal parks, the Abbe Museum, the Bar Harbor Historical Society, the public library, dozens of restaurants, bars and shops, bike and kayak rentals, the YMCA, and several houses of worship. And with the main terminus of the Island Explorer, a complimentary shuttle serving Mount Desert Island, including Acadia National Park, right around the corner, you will not need to use your car for the duration of your stay. Despite its rare downtown proximity, the Libby House provides a secluded and private setting to enjoy your time in Bar Harbor.
