This house has expansive decks and a dock for your boat or jet skiis. The master bedroom is large with it's own fireplace and sitting area as well as a master bath with jet and steam shower. The other 2 bedrooms also have attached bathrooms. One with a second steam shower. We converted the exercise room into a bonus bedroom with queen bed and TV. It is right across from the 4th bathroom which has a whirlpool tub and 2 person sauna. The open kitchen includes stainless appliances including a 5 burner gas stove top and dishwasher drawers. The living room is perfect for entertaining with a wet bar with icemaker and wine fridge. There is also a ping pong table, pool table and dart board. The decks are also perfect for entertaining with plenty of seating, a grill, hot tub and outstanding views of the water.
It is located right on Silver Lake which connects to Kalamazoo Lake and goes out to Lake Michigan. Enjoy the view from your deck, hot tub or the dock. It includes 2 Kayaks to enjoy the natural beauty of the lake and rivers. It also has a fire pit for enjoying the evenings. The lake is great for watersports as well as fishing. The house is about 1.5 miles from downtown Saugatuck. Paddle down to the dingy dock where you can tie up and walk around town or call the Interurban and be picked up and dropped off for $1 if you don't feel like driving or walking.
Planning a wedding, family reunion or friends get away weekend,....If you need more room, there is also a 2 bedroom, 1 bathrrom guest apartment on this property that is also available for rent. It is property #913489.
This was the perfect location for a friendly getaway for us. The kitchen was stocked with all necessities for grilling, cooking, and even baking. We found exactly what we needed very easily. Also, the manual on how to work tv's and etc was put to great use when we had questions. The house was extremely clean and the beds were amazing! There was even a water bed!! The house is so beautiful and comforting. Outside held kayaks and a hot tub that we used all throughout the days and nights we stayed. Couldn't have picked a better place to reside. Owners are extremely welcoming and informative. Very thankful!!!
Stayed for a 3-day extended-family weekend with Janice C. (see other review). We selected this location for the cozy looking couches, the fireplace, and plenty of extras that would entertain our group during the weekend. A blizzard was approaching, along with frigid temperatures, so we knew we'd mostly be indoors.
What a treat that weekend turned out to be. The owners were super easy to work with, and helpful, but not at all intrusive. Before we arrived, I contacted the owner and she helped me arrange for a bouquet of flowers to be placed in the master bedroom, as a special treat for my mother. The owner took care of everything and the flowers were perfect! After our first night there, the expected blizzard was in full force and one of our cars was stuck in the snow. Not only was there someone there to plow the driveway/walkway, but he also got our car unstuck. Nice!
Nearby was a cute little family owned grocery store called DeMond's. They had everything we needed and even brought the groceries out to the car for us.
Back at the cottage, life was good. The photos do not show that the living room, kitchen, and pool/ping pong table are all in a large Great Room area that looks out to the water. This open space concept is ideal for a group vacation. While cooking we were not isolated from the group and had everything we needed close by. Of course, there are individual rooms to retreat to, but most of our time was spent in that space. Literally, everything we needed was provided, and then some - large ice machine, tons of cooking utensils, spices, oils, vinegars, Keurig, cozy blankets, and more. It's also really nice that every bedroom has its own bathroom - great for privacy. There is a how-to binder that explains everything in the house, and includes information on the area.
On our final day there, the skies cleared, the sun shown, and we all enjoyed a day walking around Saugatuck and doing some winter shopping. Just enough was open to make it fun, but not crowded.
We all talked about wanting to come back during the warm weather months to enjoy all of the outdoor perks offered at this location. Nicely done owners.
We chose this place for its size, the indoor pool table/ping pong table, dart board, wrap around seating, dog friendly status, and nothing was a disappointment. The owner was extremely helpful. A bonus turned out to be the warmed spot on the shore of the waterway where 2swans and a variety of water birds gathered. Due to the winds of the blizzard, birds soared inthe thermals for hours, including three bald eagles. We had a wonderful time!
This house was PERFECT for a getaway weekend. There were 11 adults and two dogs just looking to have a good weekend. The house had plenty of space and the lower level allowed us all to sit on couches, hang out while people were cooking, and play lots of games. The steam shower, sauna and hot tub were key to our winter stay. I would recommend the place to families, friends, etc. It was clean, convenient, and such a pleasure. You can't go wrong!
This was a spectacular experience in the lap of luxury. Owners were very accommodating. The house is high on a hill so that from the Master Bedroom you’re eye to eye with seagulls – and eagles! Saw three bald eagles at once, and wish we had brought binoculars. We treated our bodies with the sauna, hot tub, massage chair, treadmill, even had an outside bonfire on Christmas night. Spent quite a while at the pool table. We were glad to have brought our own coffee maker (alternately, bring Keurig cups). Overall a splendid time. No complaints.
We were surprised to find a steep driveway to the house. Property was accurately described except for the attached apartment that is rented out & the fact that the only inside dining area, besides the kitchen counter, is the ping pong table. We used that a few times. There is a table outside that the 8 of us crowded around a few times. The house is clean; some maintenance is needed outside. We were pleasantly surprised to find a tiny beach where the kayaks were. The boys & grandpa enjoyed fishing & caught several large mouthed bass right from the pier. The fire pit is great. We ordered firewood that was delivered & had fun times around the fire every night. We had an order for life vests to be delivered to the house by FedEx which we never received but they said was left by the garage. So I wouldn't recommend you do that. We had very good customer service. The decks are large enough to accommodate different activities going on at the same time. We were disappointed with the high prices in the area for food, goods, etc. we went to Meijer's in Holland for food to prepare at the house. I did expect better linens & sizes of bedrooms/bathrooms for the high cost of renting the house.
Saugatuck and Douglas are located among the towering white sand dunes on the shores of Lake Michigan and the Kalamazoo River. The area offers world-class beaches, boating, antiquing, golf, live theater, nightclubs, great restaurants, and a huge variety of art galleries and artists.
During the Spring and Summer around the house, beach and water activities are abundant. In the Fall, foliage is beautiful. In addition, during the winter, ice fishing, skating, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, sledding can all be done around the house. Of course all seasons can be enjoyed from the hot tub or around the fire pit.
