Loved St. John!

Our family stayed at the Aussie Suite for our spring break "adventure" this year, and we had a wonderful time on the island! Upon arriving on the ferry from St. Thomas, and after a long day of traveling, it was great to see some friendly faces in Steve and Lisa, the caretakers who greeted us at the dock. From there, they took us to our rental car, showed us grocery stores and places to eat/drink, and led us to the house where they gave us a tour. It really got our trip off to a good start and helped us to feel at home!
The accommodations were very nice. The kitchenette allowed us to have breakfast at the house every morning, and to pack lunch for our beach trips most days (using the cooler provided). It was also nice to be able to come back to the house at the end of the day and have a home cooked meal instead of going out every night. The washer/dryer was great and we definitely could have packed less knowing how easy it was to keep on top of the laundry during the week.
Snorkeling gear (for 2), plenty of beach towels, and beach chairs were also provided at the house, all of which made our beach day trips easier. Our kids loved the proximity to the beach, and we were able to send them down to the water to explore and play (it's literally steps from the house!) The beach is pretty rocky, but our kids loved climbing and observing the sea life (snails, sea urchins, tons of coral). Besides, with the rental car, we explored plenty of beaches throughout the island and then could come back to our "home base". Some of our favorite day trips included visits to Cinnamon Bay and Hawksnest Bay beaches, the Cinnamon Bay nature trail, exploring the Annaberg sugar mill ruins, and a drive to Coral Bay (and eating at Miss Lucy's, which was so good we made a repeat visit!) Waterlemon Cay also offered great snorkeling where we saw sea turtles, a stingray, and a huge star fish! A week was hardly enough to explore all the island had to offer, but we certainly tried to see as much as we could!
The property is accurately described, and Steve and Lisa provided us their contact information in case we needed anything during our stay. In addition, we received a call from the owner's son on our second night to make sure we were enjoying our stay and to see if there was anything we needed. We provided him with a couple of maintenance items, which were both addressed right away.
I recommend the Aussie Suite to anyone headed on a St. John adventure!
