Saint Palais Vacation Rental : St Palais de Blaye

We would recommend this house as a place to stay to anyone - and we hope to go back again next year. The house description is very accurate and the standard of fixtures and fitting is very good. The location is very secluded which we loved and the garden is closed off and secure (which we needed for our autistic son) - as long as everyone can swim as the pool is deep at one end. The pool table and the swimming pool kept our 3 teenagers entertained sufficeintly - lazing around in the sun seemed to be all we wanted to do, especially with the very high temperatures. The local town is about 5 minutes by car and the locals very friendly. The local contact (Simon) is invaluable - very friendly and never imposing on your holiday, but there if you need him and he kept the pool and garden imaculate (despite the destructive intentions of a rogue mole). The local area is beautiful and the beaches between Meshers and Royan are stunning lenghts of golden sand and not too many people. Local large town of Jonzac is beautiful and very sedate. Only minor issue to point out - if you spend time in the garden in the late evening, watch out for the mosquito's! They don't seem to bother you in the house, but if you have the garden lights on and take a late swim, use bug spray.
