Amazing Christmas!

Thanks to the owners for allowing us to spend a few days in their cozy home . We were planning to go to a place that could offer a peaceful and home-like environment for this Christmas, and we found the right place at this beautiful home. I have to mention the owner called us right after our arrival to make sure we were ok...... that's tell you a lot about how much they care for the guests .
First, let me start disclosing that I am not someone who usually takes the time to write reviews, but after staying at this house I feel I have to. This farmhouse is SO CLEAN and VERY WELL MAINTAINED, and you can easily find ANYTHING you may need if planning to cook.... something you should do, since you really feel you are at home and the open layout of the kitchen- including a small island- is an invitation to spend time fixing something to eat and share.
The rest of the interiors in the house are already very well described by other reviewers, so let me comment on the outdoors: the river along the back porche, the campfire place and barn nearby make of the outdoors a MUST to have a walk, take breathtaking pictures and just BE THERE. Eventhough outside was cold in the 30's, you just feel so peaceful and "disconnected" from the world.....something we were really looking for. Finally, we read some reviewers commenting on the "tricky" road to get to the house from the main avenue, but we actually think it was very fun and exciting - and part of the adventure - to drive through it....very safe to drive, and no need for a 4 wheeler ! like many other places require in the mountains.
We hope to be back in the future.

Great Vacation Home!

My husband, two adult children and I immediately felt at home as soon as we arrived. This nicely decorated, comfortable and super clean home had everything you could need. The beds were very comfortable and all the linens and quilts were of high quality .Everything looked new and even nicer than the photos on the website. We went on a few trips to Boone, but couldn't wait to return to the house and property. We and our Beagle enjoyed exploring the outside and the long stretch of creek that runs along the property. The loveseat swings on the large back porch was a favorite of mine. Three of the four nights we were there were spent around the fire near the creek roasting marshmallows. It was so peaceful. Boone, Blowing Rock and The Mast General Store in Valle Crusis is a short drive away and is always worth the trip! Our daughter, an aspiring artist spent hours outside sketching was able to capture the creek on canvas.
The owner called us the day after we arrived to welcome us and make sure everything was ok and to call her if we had any concerns. Her daughter who we booked the house through was very helpful and both she and her mother were exceptionally nice to speak with. My husband & I have stayed at several rental homes with VRBO and must say this is one of the best. We will stay here without a doubt the next time we are in the area and encourage anyone to do the same. You will not be disappointed!

Well, where do you start with this home? It was everything and then some. We rent a lot of vacation homes but none as well equipped as this. The kitchen had everything imaginable, lots of beautiful dishes for a large group, anything you could possibly need, including all types of things for the fire pit for marshmellows, cooking a weenie over the fire. You name it, they had it. The bedding was VERY nice, plenty of extra blankets and pillows if you needed them, lots of books and movies too. The outside was FABULOUS! Well appointed with swings, chairs, hammock, picnic table and the firepit down by the creek. My boys stayed in the creek. The water was crystal clear, we did some trout fishing and a lot of hiking along the creek. We hated to leave and will return to Brooks Bend Farm. The owners really have thought of everything. It's more of a home than a rental property. They were so easy to work with, called to make sure we had everything we needed.

Lovely Clean Home!

My husband and I (and our 4 year old lab) stayed here for a long weekend in July. I absolutely loved the house itself - it has everything you could possibly need or want, much more than we were expecting based on other rentals we have stayed in. Soap and paper products were provided. The kitchen is VERY well stocked and it really felt like a comfortable, welcoming, clean home. The mud room made it easy to clean off the dog as we entered the house. We spent evenings swinging on the porch and enjoying the quiet, or out by the fire pit. My husband fished each morning and our dog had a blast splashing around in the creek. The house is close to a road, and while there is not much traffic, we decided to leash our dog to be safe. We spent all our time outdoors on the beautiful property. There is lots of open green grassy space for our dog to explore in addition to the creek. The swings on the porch were my favorite feature - how can you not relax while swinging? We would love to come back someday. We also loved the info on Eustace Conway - we are fans of Mountain Men!
