Brooks Bend Farm is a quaint farmhouse located in a beautiful North Carolina valley just seven miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway and fifteen minutes to Boone. The house is tucked in a cove on two and one-half acres surrounded by mountains on one thousand feet of a state stocked trout stream which is one of the cleanest in the state. Trout season opens April 7, 2012.

You will have endless entertainment possibilities fishing, swimming, hiking, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, playing croquet, swinging in the swings, napping in the hammock by the creek or simply relaxing in the front porch rockers as the tranquil sound of the creek soothes your spirits.

If exploring the High Country is high on your priority list, an abundance of local activities is available for your enjoyment. The charming village of Blowing Rock is just an enjoyable twenty minute drive south on the Parkway. Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, North Carolina ski resorts, the Mast General Store , and Moses Cone Estate are all within a few minutes drive as well as restaurants and shopping.

When you have exhausted yourself and your family with outdoor and local activities, come home to the farmhouse where you can enjoy three bedrooms (sleeps six), two and one-half baths all furnished with high quality linens. Cook your favorite meals in the very well-equipped kitchen or outside on the charcoal grill.

Perfect Home in Perfect Location

This was hands down the best retreat my family has visited. The home itself is very nice with details, decor, and feels like your own. We had everything we needed to cook and other amenities that allowed us to relax and enjoy our time together. Of course, what really separates Brooks Bend Farm from any place we've ever stayed is the landscape surrounding it. The home sits on a very large piece of land with a beautiful flowing creek that our 3 young children spent hours exploring. We spent our evenings together around the creekside firepit constructing S'mores. As remote as we felt, we were only a short drive from every major surrounding town with the activities we had planned. Although our agenda changed once arriving...we allotted more time on the farm!

A wonderful retreat!

My family and I stayed here for a week and absolutely enjoyed every second! The house is so cozy and works perfect for a family and even furry family members. We brought our golden retriever and he absolutely loved it! We would venture out during the day, but always seemed to find ourselves coming back to the cabin early so that we could just sit on the back porch and relax. The creek that runs behind the house is just lovely. The peaceful sounds made you feel like you were at a spa. I cant wait to go back!

Beautiful Setting!

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful home during the Thanksgiving holiday and brought our four legged child. All I can say is spectacular! We enjoyed every minute while we were here. Sitting on the porch in the early mornings to making s'mores in the fire pit at night was so relaxing. Watching our dog run in the huge open yard chasing sticks and swimming in the creek was just what he needed too! The house has everything you could ever need and was very clean and comfortable. We spent day trips out in Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson, and Grandfather Mountain. The Blue Ridge Parkway offered many short hiking trails that we enjoyed. I would love to come back in the summer! Thank you for offering this beautiful home to my family!

Wonderful Place

We arrived on thursday the place was great. We enjoyed the porch and the creek, my husband fished and
enjoyed every minute of it. We had my sister with us that lives in Narrave, Fl and she loved everything. The house was great and had a lot of things you cannot find in other cabins we have stayed in the mountains.
My only suggestion is we need more that one TV. I know this place is for all the nature but, at night it was
hard with one TV. Thanks for the beautiful peaceful place.

Awesome Vacation Home!

What a beautiful home in an absolutely gorgeous setting. The house has everything you can think of and then some. Well kept up and very clean but most of all very comfortable. The creek behind the house made the whole vacation perfect. Our 6 year old showed us a new side of him as he jumped into the creek to catch the fish, collected toads and hiked the creek on a daily basis. The owners were very responsive with any questions we had...which were only a couple. This is a true getaway as there is no cell signal in the valley and limited internet. This was great because it forced us to truly shut down and enjoy!!!!! We will definitely do this again.

The incredibly beautiful Elk Creek that runs the length of the property, and shallow enough for even 6 year old kids, is really a wonderful playground for kids of all ages....from 6 to 90! We have spent hours simply sitting in the swings and rockers on the porches gazing with wonder at the beautiful mountains that surround our property on all sides and listening to the never-ending noises of the creek on the rocks. And when guests are ready to leave the property and wander around, there are interesting and special sites to see and things to do any direction you drive from Brooks Bend Farm. Also, the property is a true winter wonderland for all ages when it is covered with snow. We hope you will return again soon!
