The Sea Gem Cottage is an ocean front home six miles south of Newport, Oregon. The house is 600 square feet in size with an open floor plan. Our home is one bedroom, one bathroom and the entire house has been completely remodeled. There are bamboo floors throughout the living room and travertine tiles in the bathroom. Winter and Neil purchased this property in 2009 to be used as a getaway from their daily lives in Portland, Oregon. After completely remodeling the cottage, they began renting it so that others could also enjoy the beautiful Oregon Coast.
The Newport area is the most beautiful and scenic part of the Oregon Coast in our opinion. There is abundant wildlife as well as the conveniences of a nearby city. Whales and seals have been viewed from the cottage. Seagulls and pelicans fly by the windows and float in the wind. The privacy granted by having a house on the ocean cannot be matched by a hotel or condo.
The house is built in the 1960's, but has been completely remodeled with tasteful, modern decor, yet keeping some of the original charm. It is challenging to find modern properties on the Oregon Coast, and this cottage will not disappoint.
