Mark & Cindy-lou,
Thank you for letting us stay at your cottage. We really enjoyed ourselves. The grand-kids had a great time and the canoe was put to good use. Nate and I even took the kayak out. The cottage had everything we needed and is very comfortable. It also made a great base for our day trips!
Mark & Cindy Lou, A big fat thanks to a wonderful, restful, and relaxing week in the camp. With four kids and a puppy out can be hard to relax and even harder to find a place that happily accommodates us all. We took full advantage of every bed, boat, card and board game, and more than a few nights on the porch. Everyone caught at least one fish, even me at 33 caught my very first fish! Our new puppy loved being able to run around and especially loved playing in the muck....glad you had a hose! We took our boat out on China lake 4 or 5 times and took out down to Coppacotacpeeexyz (can't remember or spell!) Lake for one day.
Sadly, there was one casualty of us playing games on the porch while our pup "slept" inside. Apparently she really liked one of your throw pillows (so sorry!)
At any rate, just wanted to say thanks for a great week away and we will happily recommend the cottage to others. We appreciate how well stocked the kitchen was, and besides the mucky water, our only recommendation for improvement would be a hammock! Mommy lives to take naps in the sun :) -Penny & Tim
We had a lovely stay at this cottage on beautiful Lovejoy pond. The cottage is at the end of the road, and for most of our stay, we felt as though we had the pond to ourselves. The owners have included just about everything you would want to have in the cottage--both for cooking and for entertaining the kids. According to our kids, the only thing missing was the Internet, although we (the adults) were happy not to have it during our vacation. We spent many happy hours cooking, playing games, reading on the screen porch, and exploring the pond in the kayak or the canoe. We enjoyed watching the birds that make the pond their home, including a family of eagles. The owners were very friendly and helpful in answering any questions that we had about the property and the area. We were able to do a lot of things that were within approximately an hour's drive from the house, including hikes in the Belgrade Lakes area, visits to the shore towns of Camden and Freeport, and swimming in Lake St. George. Waterville is about 20 minutes away and is where we did most of our shopping. We also played golf at a local course in Albion as well as a course in Augusta. We would definitely come back.

Our expectations were over met. This is a true blue beautiful cottage, you just need to bring yourselves, personal belongings ....and don't forget your stress....because you can happily leave that behind...it will wander out into the woods and fortunately get lost..:) We will happily be back for some more peace...Thank you Mark & Cindy Lou for thinking of everything including a very clean cottage to make one feel at home out in the peace full beautiful natures surroundings......did I mention Peaceful???? ? We have a larger size family. Most of the time that makes it incredibly difficult to find an adequate place to stay for a vacation. Mark and Cindy's cottage was a perfect getaway for us. The cottage was equipped with every necessity. My husband is a chef and found everything he needed to prepare meals in the well stocked kitchen, we even baked cookies! This is our second time staying in a vacation home, and there is no comparison as far as seclusion and privacy. As a previous reviewer stated, you certainly feel as if the whole "pond" (much more like a lake) is there only for you. The fishing was fantastic, our 10 year old son felt like a pro reeling in his line again and again. They have a fire ring in the side yard, perfect for cooler nights and the screen porch tops the whole place right off! What an enjoyable time we had in Maine, I would definitely recommend this home to friends in the future, thanks Mark and Cindy for sharing your wonderful getaway with the rest of us!
Dear Cindy and Mark,
We wanted to tell you that we had a very special and amazing vacation. My children are 4 1/2 and 6 and we fished as a family for the first time with both my kids catching. On another outing my son (6) caught many White Perch with my husband. My husband is an avid fisherman who really enjoyed the bounty of small and large mouth bass. He also really loved getting out on the pond early and how undisturbed he was on the water. It really was almost like having the pond to ourselves. He told me the island at the other end of the pond was a great place to fish. The screen porch, as many have commented, was awesome. So much room and we enjoyed the outside from early morning into late in the evening. The wildlife was awesome. We also saw the Eagle, Osprey and Loons. We loved having our dog Lucy with us. She is a 70lb Red Bone Coon hound and we never can bring her anywhere. She loved being able to stay with us and not at the doggie hotel.
For the camp itself, the beds were very comfortable for being at a camp. Both my husband and myself have bad backs and we didn't wake up sore or stiff through the whole trip. The kids felt so special sleeping in the gorgeous bunk beds. The washer and dryer was a huge help especialy having the little ones and the very roomy, up to date shower was so great. I loved cooking in the kitchen and on the grill. The weather was so great the entire time that we didnt really get to use the TV except for one night for a movie (thank you for picking a tv with a DVD player in it!!!!)
We made a trip to the ocean and found a fantastic fresh seafood retailer. Pay cash and you are getting a lot of great food cheap! I think it was the Maritime Market? in Belfast. There was a great little convenient store that sold worms and subs, odd combo but both were great! Nearby ice cream stand...you guys really have everything...I could go on and on. Please tell your very nice neighbors that it was such a pleasure meeting them. Our kids got along so well together and it was so peaceful to have a family next door. I know they aren't there all the time so I guess we were the lucky ones!
Thank you again for everything and we have told all of our friends and family~

Just a wonderful cottage on a beautiful, tranquil pond. The bird and wildlife is extraordinary and the stillness serene. The screened porch alone was worth the trip, overlooking the water, with bald eagles, osprey, loons, and kingfishers to name a few. At the south end of the pond is a nice dirt trail perfect for some short but aggressive mountain bike rides or longer if you go up to the road. There are also nearby trails and fields for evening walks. Location in relation to area attractions is perfect: made several trips to the Victorian coastal town of Belfast, and Waterville and a nice little independent cinema are less than 10 min. away. The cottage is very clean and very well furnished. Kitchen is well stocked with every utensil and cookery needed, so don't overpack your own stuff. Mark and Cindy have a special place you'll be pleased to have the opportunity to share.
