Hello and I sure do hope you will join me in this lovely little village; as I call it 'spittin distance' to the fun and excitement of Hershey. Me?? a retired, die-hard customer service specialist. Restaurants, business dining, catering, you name it. I was side-lined a couple of years back by (2) major back surgeries, so I opened the apartment to folks wantin' to have a great time in our neck of the woods. Not only will you enjoy all that this area has to offer on a vacation, but, 'lucky you and the kidlet, will meet and play (and play, and play) with the rescue puppies. By the way, you like horses, we got a bunch of 'em. Just waitin for the kidlets to feed 'em carrots and apples, so bring the camera and you will remember forever the days your kidlets learned about horses; FreighTrain Willie, Lucky, Buddy and all the rest of 'em.
I sure hope you will join me for the 'best-rest' time of your life in the second Sweetest Place in Hershey. See you soon, and thanks for stopping.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 1998
Didn't plan on doin this so soon, however, when I had two operations, and couldn't work, I thought about it for a long while. And, when I had some folks come and stay at the apartment at the beginning, met them, found out how nice they were, and how much fun we had sitting out front at the fire pit and glider, I jumped in. It's been a great time.
The absolute quiet and serene surroundings, minus the doggie welcoming howl, of course.
Hi Ruth, I will give stubby a kiss for you. He is a very special dog. You were very nice and friendly to all of us. Our stay down there was wonderful. We hope to see you again soon. And if we are ever in that area, we would love to come back. Thanks so much for letting us stay. You are a wonderful person..
My two children and I were coming into Hershey for just one night and Ruth graciously allowed us to rent her apartment. She greeted us in the driveway with a big hug ( it was like we were family) and took us in to show us the lovely apartment. She has it decorated so quaint. We met her sweet doggy and she was sad that our puppy couldn't make it, do the fact that we didn't have room for him with all of our stuff!!! We asked her for a recommendation for dinner and it was FANTASTIC. When we got home the apartment was all cozy and we had a great sleep in our comfy down pillow and down comforter bed. It was like we were royalty. We just had a great time and can't wait to come back for a girls spa weekend. Thank you Ruth you are truly a gem!!!
My family stayed from 8/25-8/29, Monday to Friday. Ruth make you feel welcome the moment you arrive. The guest house has all the benefits of home, kitchen, washer and dryer which is very convenient when you have kids. Our children loved the accommodations and Ruth really makes you feel like family. The rooms are clean and the beds were super comfortable. Even our little dog loved Ruth and she was kind enough to let out our dog and visit her while we were at Hershey park. The location is very close to Hershey, and there is a huge supermarket close by so you can stock the fridge with snacks. We enjoyed the restaurants that were close by as well. When we take our next trip to Hershey we will definitely be staying here. Our dog Belen says thanks Ruth and our children send you a huge hug!
My family and I stayed here for three nights and it was very cozy and convient. My kids felt at home. Ruth was such a sweet lady and very helpful. Her house is placed less than 5 mins from the park and there are lots of fishing spots and playgrounds for kids nearby. Ruth thank you again for such a great time. We will be back when we are in the area again..
We spent a few nights here, and found it very convenient to all the attractions. We were travelling with our dog, so the big yard was nice.
The kitchen was small but sufficient for our needs, and the beds were comfortable. Cable t.v. was a nice feature. The only downside is the place is decorated very cute, but allergy sufferers take note to bring your meds, as there are a lot of things that catch dust around---lots of nic-
knacks. And the tub/shower would be difficult for anyone elderly, or with hip
etc. problems to get into, as it is so high to step over to get in. You do hear the owner's dogs barking and running around on the floor above you, but if you are a dog lover, this will not bother you. The owner is warm and friendly and will try to accommodate your every need.
We LOVED staying here! What a great option when travelling to Hershey! Ruth's place is very close to everything, is very quiet, comfortable and spacious. I really cannot imagine staying anywhere else when we visit Hershey again.
This was our second time staying at Ruth's. The first time was with my Mom and the boys and this time was with my hubby and the boys. Hubby is UBER picky about where he stays and I was pleased to hear him say, "I really like this place." The "clutter" feel that another reviewer noted lends to its homey atmosphere! We felt like we were staying with family (that lets us come and go as we please and will let you know where the best pancake place is!). The bathroom is nicely stocked (I loved that I could smell the "clean" in her towels and forgot to ask what her secret was) and the galley-style kitchen is perfect for small-quick meals. The beds are comfortable and we all slept great! Ruth does live upstairs with her dogs and cat, but I did not hear anything that was bothersome. Hotels are definitely more noisy and that is why we try not to stay at them. Thank you Ruth and we hope to come up again to take the boys to the waterpark!
