this was my 3rd year in a row staying here. I already have my 4th stay in the plans. I love staying here, its close to town and easy to get to. I love the views over the balcony and the daily rainbow in the morning. The homeowners have come like family! they are great!!! the condo is clean and lively, has everything you'll need to feel like home! this review is giving away a great secret, you'll love it here.
About the location: Great close in location close enough and far enough to Cruz Bay. We are a family of 4 with 10 and 12 years old girls. It's a 15 minutes walk to Cruz Bay. From the Saint John Visitor Center to Salamon Beach is a 20 minutes walk on the trail, another 8 minutes to Honeymoon Beach, another 10 minutes to Caneel resort. You can buy drinks/chips at Honeymoon beach and foods at Caneel resort. Due to the steep hill, walking back is harder but you get used to it the second time. 7 minutes walk to Candi for great BBQ. Many great restaurants are in town. Cruz Landing has the best Bushwacker and happy hour appetizers. We stayed late in town to enjoy the music and the festivities.
Because of the location, we do not need to rent a jeep. We took Taxi to Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay.
About the property: Great little place. Clean with all the things you ever need. We traveled twice a year and always used VRBO but this is the first place that we feel like we have every thing we need. Feel like home actually.
About the hosts: Don't know what else to say except they are the best with great communication during the booking. You always feel the hosts are close enough and available if you need anything and yet far enough to give you the time to enjoy your vacation. The Drive around the island and the trip to the market weres an unexpected bonus.
This was the perfect place to stay. Private, safe, very clean, a stunning view, owners on the premises, close to everything and so affordable. The owners truly have thought of everything in outfitting the apartment and are very gracious hosts.
My husband and I stayed here on our recent trip to St. John. The locaiton was fabulous -- very close to lots of restaurants, shopping, and beaches. The unit was clean and new and well maintained, and the hosts were fantastic! The view is breathtaking! I would definately recommend this to anyone looking to visit St. John. It sure beats staying at an overpriced resort and you have all the comforts of home.
I stayed at this location for 8 days. Owners were great and very accommodating. Condo is very clean and lively with amazing views of the bay just below. Location is very close to cruz bay, 10-15 minute walk into town. I would definitely stay in this location again and would recommend it to anyone!!!
Property was well represented by the photo's and descriptions, and the view is even better. Very clean, quiet, with a location convenient to town. Perfect for a couple. Owner was friendly and professional. I would choose this rental again and would recommend it to my friends.
It worked very well to rent a jeep to visit the beaches, and we were able to park at the jeep rental office in town free of charge when visiting the shops and restaurants.
Highlights of our trip included: visiting Salt Pond Bay (south of Coral Bay) for snorkeling and hiking, was well worth the drive; the popular Reef Bay hike (thru Friends of the VI National Park), was glad we got reservations a month in advance; and a half-day fishing trip with World-Class Anglers, Captain Chris worked hard to provide us with an enjoyable and productive trip.
St. John the smallest & most idyllic of the three United States Virgin Islands, is best known for its dozens of post card perfect white sand beaches, turquoise bays abounding in colorful corals & rainbows of tropical fish & endless vistas of green velvet hills. Only nine miles long & three miles wide, two thirds of the island is the Virgin Islands National Park, so its spectacular beaches & untouched forests will remain that way for generations to come & be accessible to all. There are tours of the National Park by Jeep or safari bus & hikes on spectacular trails led by Park Rangers who enrich the experience with talks on the island’s history & geology as well as its flora & fauna. Frequent visitors to St. John are beach lovers who aren’t content to only read about St. John in books but are always ready to go back to the beach.
While it is only twenty minutes from St. Thomas by convenient hourly ferry, St. John is the peaceful, uncommercialized paradise of island fantasies.
