Brand new villa nestle on a hilltop facing the clear blue sea and overlook palm trees as far as the eye can see. VillaNoria is so close to the ocean that you can hear the waves breaking from the poolside terrace. The villa has been completely renovated in contemporary European style and is equipped with all the modern conveniences.
VillaNoria Verde is a two-story villa which has a fully furnished living room with a flat screen satellite television, an open kitchen, and powder room on the ground floor. These rooms open up to a covered private terrace in the back of the house. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with air conditioning facing the ocean. Each has two separate or adjoining twin beds and en suite bathrooms with rain showers.
The villa shares a large swimming pool and sun deck. It’s the perfect place to sunbathe or lounge around on the outdoor sofas with a book or an evening drink. More details all the way at the bottom!
Included in our standard rates we provide regular house cleaning and the weekly changing of bed linens and WiFi. Our staff is at your service when you need them. Hans has been working a large part of his life in the maritime business. Started as navigational officer followed by a career as shipbuilding project manager and shipbroker. He runs his own business since 1999. The last ten years as captain and owner of a passenger sailing vessel in the north of Norway. Giving our guest this wonderful experience of being part of the dramatic nature in the arctic. Coming to the Dominican Republic on regular basis since 1986 where het met with Carolina. They both find this place something special. With VillaNoria we'll have an extension of our activities in Norway, the splendor and adventure of the surrounding nature and the service that will give you an unforgettable holiday
Hans de Koning purchased this villa in 2010
Coming to the DR since 1986 on regular basis we have been considering the perfect spot to live and have holidays. In first instance everyone would like to have a house at the beach until you realize that you will have a house full of wind, sand and salt with a bit of a blow. (And mosquitos) In 2010 we've had the opportunity to buy a private hill with magnificent views over the beach and the surrounding mountains, complete privacy and a stone drop from the beach and the village of Las Terrenas. The perfect match between privacy, the nice atmosphere of the mountains and the beaches and town in the vicinity. And... we've made a beautiful holiday spot for our guests
Driving up the small road that leads up to your villa at an altitude of 150 meters at evenings. Looking up to see the lights of your house and pool. Coming up on the terrace and feel the breeze coming from the ocean. Seeing the lights of the town below you and having a nice cool glass at the veranda. Waking up in the morning with sound of the birds and the sunlight peeking into your bedroom. The sound of the breaking waves on the background. Lifting your head a bit from the pillow so you can see the ocean and the surrounding mountains, knowing that breakfast will be ready soon. Relaxing at the pool or strolling around. Where doing not too much is an activity on its own. You know that you've found the perfect place!
My family (one couple/with teenager) spent 10 days at the Villa Noria over the Christmas holidays 2014. From the moment I started the process of booking the Villa over the internet, to the end of our too-short vacation, Hans and his wife Carolina helped us manage our arrival, the language barriers of the DR, located the grocery stores, beaches, etc. for us, booked car rental and gave us the best advice on where to eat and what activities to pursue.
The Villa itself was perfect, the views are breathtaking. We would spend our days out and about exploring, come back to the Villa for a blender margarita and a quick dip in the pool and shower, then back out for a dinner [unlike other Carribean vacation rentals that we have booked, the shower pressure in the Villa is great!]. The few afternoons we spent at ‘home’ for quiet time were spent lounging around the pool and practising yoga on the large deck. The gardens are lovely and the birds sing non-stop.
Recommend dinners at El Lugar and Mojitos - we went to both several times (and if you are a Canadian, One Love shack for burgers and beer in the afternoon!). The Villa location was perfect for our family, the best beach Playa Coson is only 5 minutes away, and with downtown LT only 10 minutes away, we had the best of both worlds.
On days when the husband negotiated the purchase of fresh fish in town from the fishermen, Sandy set up the coal bbq so we could grill. The staff that Hans has employed are courteous and professional, Sandy is a true delight. Our experience at the Villa was everything we could have asked for, and more.
We are already checking our calendars to see if we can return to the Villa yet again this spring; if not, we will most definitely return next winter. Thank you Hans and Carolina for helping make our vacation a wonderful experience,
We decided late in the year to take a year-end trip to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary and the New Year abroad. We decided the Dominican Republic would fit the bill nicely, and planning began in haste. We decided to spend a few days in the Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo, then spend a few days on the Samana Peninsula before heading to our AI resort in Punta Cana. After much research, we decided the nightlife and excellent dining opportunities in Las Terrenas made it more attractive than Santa Barbara de Samana, so we began searching for lodging. As many rentals were already booked during the busiest travel time of the year, Villanoria and only a few others were returned by our search, and based on the pictures, location, and quick responses by Hans, we decided to quickly book the villa before someone beat us to it!
We arrived on 28-Dec for our three night stay, and were immediately in awe of the beauty in the Coson-Las Terrenas area, including the drive up the mountain to the villa. The narrow, single-car-width road wound up and around through beautiful foliage that, had it not been our first time on the steep road unsure of where we were going, would have been even more relaxing. Once we arrived, Hans showed us to our villa, consisting of two bedrooms upstairs (each with a full connected bathroom) connected by the outdoor deck and a fairly well-appointed kitchen, living area, and half bath downstairs. The bedrooms each have a single-room air conditioner (small extra charge for electricity), but we never needed it during our stay, as the night temperatures were very comfortable and there was always a breeze to keep air moving. Hans then provided us some great information about the town of Las Terrenas and graciously answered our questions regarding recommended restaurants, clubs, tours, etc, and let us know how to reach him with any other questions.
We unpacked and stepped out onto the deck to sit and relax for a few minutes before our adventure into Las Terrenas. The view from the deck was so beautiful that we sat for over an hour admiring it, and decided to go into town only to buy food at the store we could bring back and prepare at the villa so we could enjoy the view at night! I can't say enough about the terrific location of this villa - set atop a lush, green mountain overlooking the coast, with Las Terrenas only a few minutes away. Next time we travel to the DR, we will spend our entire vacation at Villanoria and the Las Terrenas area!
We were lucky enough to spend ten days at Villa Noria during our recent couples trip. What a wonderful place! The spaces are clean, tastefully decorated, and well-appointed. The owner, Hans, and his wife recently renovated the property. Each villa has two identical bedrooms with en-suite baths which fit our needs perfectly. Staying up in the hills not just afforded us breathtaking views, but provided cool breezes and some quiet away from town. We hung out on the deck or by the pool whenever we stayed in. The bugs were barely noticeable too, as we learned that the owner sprays to keep them at bay. The daily cleaning service was much appreciated and the staff will even go so far as to cook meals for you if you so choose. We were grateful for the nightly watchman, which the owners kindly provides, though we found the area so safe and friendly it didn't seem necessary. The owners live up the hill and are there to answer any questions. On the days that they were not in town, they provided the number of their nice neighbor to assist us.
The Samana peninsula is an easy area to navigate, safe, and hospitable. Villa Noria is about a ten minute drive from Las Terrenas, a town with a lively mix of ex-Pats and friendly locals. There is good shopping, especially if you're looking to purchase artwork, as well as delicious restaurants. (We highly recommend Mojitos just east of town and Restaurant Luis on Playa Coson.) The nightlife is also abuzz, especially at Pueblo de Los Pescadores, a strip of restaurants and bars on the beach. Though just laying on the beach and watching the kite surfers is entertaining, there are many excursions one could do. Consider taking a dip in the Limon waterfall, renting quads for the day, or discovering the beaches around Las Galeras.
Thank you to Hans, his wife, and their staff for a lovely vacation. We hope to be back someday.
At first we want to say thank you to Hans and the service. The Villa Noria is very beautiful and clean. The Villa is very tasteful furnishings. Everything is very clean and modern. At first we wanted to rent a place near the beach but now we are really happy that we didn´t done that. On top of the hills the air is just fantastic and the view is indescribable. Sandy and his family is very nice and it feels like home. Hans and his wife were very friendly and courteous. The Villas are very safe there is also a watchman who works there the whole night.
The village Las Terrenas is not so big but you can find everything you need. Allmost all of the beaches are very beauiful, especially Playa Bonita. But there are also some other beaches like Playa Coson or Playa Las Terrenas. All of these beaches are reachable by car in about ten minutes.
All in all we are very satisfied with the place and we recommend Villa Noria.
Thanks for the nice stay in Dominican Republic
Located in the hills of Cosón, just ten minutes away from the Caribbean’s most pristine and unspoiled beaches, VillaNoria is also nearby the colourful shops and restaurants of Las Terrenas. Las Terrenas is the holiday destination of choice for individual travellers to the Dominican Republic (in contrast to groups). In town you’ll find the “Pueblo de Pescadores”, with its small beachfront restaurants serving local and European cuisine and lively bars for a great night out. You’ll find Las Terrenas to be a real melting pot of Dominican and European culture. For decades now, Europeans have relocated to this area for its beauty, the quality of life and, of course, its pleasant climate with the ever-present trade wind that cools the heat of the sun with tropical breezes.
If you’re looking forward to doing more than simply relaxing by the pool or at the beach, the area provides many different activities to suit all kinds of interests: kite surfing, scuba diving, hiking, horse riding through the mountains or to the waterfalls at El Limón, humpback whale watching in Samaná bay, etc. We are happy to provide you with more information and will help arrange activities for you during your stay with us.
VillaNoria is situated on the Northeast side of the Dominican Republic, just 3 kilometres outside Las Terrenas. VillaNoria is easily accessible from the Dominican Republic’s main international airports. By car, El Catey/Samaná Airport is just 30 minutes away, Santo Domingo Airport is 1 hour and 40 minutes away, Puerto Plata Airport is 2 hours and 30 minutes away and Punto Cana Airport is a 6 hour drive.
You may also consider booking a private flight from Puerto Plata or Punto Cana to El Portillo Airport, Las Terrenas’ local airport for a reasonable price. El Portillo provides daily connecting flight service to and from the international airports listed above.
