3 bedroom + extra beds 1 full & 1 three quartr baths. Bunk-room & Bath opt.

Beautiful 3500 square foot 3 story log home on 14 acres in pristine Lincoln National Forest. Non-smoking property. A remote area with few houses, Livin Hi Lodge offers a haven from the hustle and bustle of busy life styles. Modern conveniences yet secluded. Intriguing decor in keeping with long ago but interesting Afrilica theme fills the great room. Many trophy mounts from around the world, a hunters heaven! 3 bedroom, with extra beds and sofas, unfinished apartment & bunk room when available. ONSITE OR NEARBY CARETAKERS. Walk right out the door, across the fence into the national forest. The area offers many hiking trails including the beautiful views from the rim trail overlooking the Tularosa basin and White Sands Desert. Wildlife abounds. Summer months July and August bring beautiful wildflowers, Fall paints glorious colors with aspen and maples - a golden palace of leaves! Winter snows are not normally harsh but leaves the area usable and drivable! A four wheel drive is recommended in winter but front wheel drive may suffice. Enjoy Snow mobiling, tubing, skiing and cross country skiing in our area! Cleaning, Internet, credit card fees additional. Children under 12 & additional boarders over 8 people $15 per night per person.

About Judi

After the hustle and bustle of city life in Houston we fulfilled a dream to move to the peaceful Rocky Mountains of New Mexico and build a log home on property purchased some years before. We had a good 10 years at this property as our home. In 2002 we became missionaries to Africa and have lived there the better part of the last 10 years. See Help4HopeAfrika.org When we are home and house is rented we may be found in the bunk room apartment downstairs. Otherwise we are away traveling and speaking to raise support for our Africa work.

We built this house in a secluded area in the Lincoln National Forest as a haven for us and for our friends and family.

What makes this lodge unique

Every aspect of Livin Hi is a story. You will see evidence of travels around the world. If you are a hunter or just enjoy being in a 'hunting lodge' you will enjoy Livin Hi! There's even a Victorian room and bath to make the ladies happy! The view from the 35 foot long covered upper and lower decks fill you with awe of God's creation. Bask in the sun on the large balcony off the master bedroom. You will not be disappointed and will never be able to take it all in! A jewel in the rough!

A Perfect place to get away! Rest, Hike, Drive watch the Humming Birds! White Sands Desert & Carlsbad Caverns as a day trip. Historical Lincoln, NM & Old Mesilla also a good day trip. Charming Village of Cloudcroft is 20 minutes away with quaint shops and good food. A meal at the famous 'Lodge' is a must! This country is abundant with Rocky Mountain Elk and Merriam turkey and if you look hard you may also see deer, bobcat, black bear and cougar. Sorry, we have a 'No Refund' policy.

Had a GREAT time at Livin Hi and do every year, as i have been coming hear for the past 10 years. If you are and avid outdoorsman or just want to get away for a lot of peace and solitude, this is the place.
It's easy to get to, although 4 wheel drive is always nice, especially in the winter. It is fully equipped with everything you need to make for a great stay. Great Kitchen!
The area is loaded with elk!, lots of turkey and deer too!
I'll be back for sure!

Wow! That will be the first impression as you drive up the winding drive to Livin Hi.
This home is truly one in a million. The owners have gone to great lengths to furnish this vacation home as if it were their full time residence. The Big Game Mounts in the living room are amazing. We cooked several meals here and had plenty of cookware, utensils and dishes. The decks offer breathtaking views and the wildlife is incredible.
The home is better than ever expected the amenities supreme and the owners are superb! If you want a little bit of paradise for a few days....this is it! Thank you Judi for sharing your beautiful home with others!!

It was the perfect place for us.

Judy, We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our time in your home! It was so comfortable and interesting. my children spent a lot of time looking up animals in books and internet to identify each one there. It was the perfect place for us. We spent most of our time there, went into Cloudcroft for dinner one night. We saw about 20 turkeys in the yard most days and after putting out some corn, came home to between 35 and 40 elk in the yard. One day we went to the national observatory and drove over to Bluff
Springs and counted more than 100 elk on that drive. We had a fun , relaxing time to remember while our son is in Afghanistan. It was very hard to leave him but we sure enjoyed our visit with him and so did he, and your beautiful place helped make that possible.

Beautiful Place Away From It All

This is a beautiful property with everything you could need for a great family trip. It's almost completely secluded in a quiet valley so you really feel like you have the entire national forest to yourself. The cabin is very well-appointed and stocked with everything you need to settle down for a week, and Cloudcroft is just close enough if you need to make a quick trip into town. And the owners are very gracious and helpful. It's a great place!

Great Mountain Lodge in Cloudcroft

What a wonderful long weekend in the mountains. The views are awesome. This is truly a cool and relaxing retreat in the beautiful forest. Judi & Jack were in country and stayed in the apartment, but were out of sight except when we needed them--they are very welcoming and accommodating. We spent a lot of time visiting with them about their travels in Africa and around the world. They are true gems (they do significant volunteer work).

And since we were all hunters, the great room with all of their collections was fabulous! We loved all of the stories. And Jack helped us with strategy on our hunt and with the logistics afterward. So helpful!

Great place also to take a family (we were four big guys, and we all want to use it in the future for family getaways). All of the pictures online represented exactly what we found (very important).

We cooked some awesome meals--the kitchen is fully outfitted. And Judi provided access to the full kitchen.

We also appreciated the efficiency of the centrally located wood burning heating stove. We were at first skeptical--it was easy and worked really well. No issues at all.

Also, Judi made all of the upfront details, travel info/directions and contract logistics easy.

We highly recommend the "Livin' High" Lodge. So glad we found it on HomeAway.
