Great place to stay!
This unit is very nice and clean. The owners have it stocked with most everything you need. They even provide a toddler bed, high chair, childs rocking chair, and toys. The beds and couch were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again! The owners were very responsive and pleasant to deal with. We enjoyed sitting outside on the balcony to eat our meals and just hang out and talk. The patio furniture was nice - sturdy and comfortable, not the cheap stuff. When sitting on the balcony you have a nice view of the pool and partial view of the ocean. Only a few negatives about this unit, which are not the owners fault; 1) No elevator to get you, your toddler, and your luggage to the third floor; and 2) The beach area directly across the street from the condo complex is covered with large rocks.
As for nearby activities, nothing is within walking distance. The Pleasure Pier is about 3 miles away. We were disappointed in the Pleasure Pier. It is way overpriced and there was nothing that our 3 year old could ride by herself and only 2 rides that she could ride with an adult. We ate dinner at Bubba Gump and do not recommend it. The service was poor and the food was no better than what you'd get at Long John Silver's for half the price. We had a great time playing on the clean beach and at Murdoch's. We do recommend indulging in the ice cream at Ben & Jerry's.

Owner's Response: Hi Marcy, Thank you for your great review! I am sorry that Galveston's Pleasure Pier was not as expected. The block and 1/2 walk to the beach can be a challenge with a toddler. Moody Gardens, The Historic Strand and Museums are about 1 - 5 miles away and do require a vehicle. Thanks again for choosing Docs Quarters @ the Dawn!
