About this property

Rustic Loft in Working Horse Barn

NEW IN 2024 SEASON:
While the farm is still a tranquil and quiet place for relaxation, this season we are not growing much and have fewer animals on site. The price has been decreased to reflect this. The farm store is not open but some products are available for purchase by request. Thank you!

This space is a loft above a three stall horse barn (with horses in it!). There is a queen size bed, fold out couch, and single rollaway bed available. The loft is furnished with a large harvest table and chairs, and a cozy relaxing couch. It is an open concept design with room for up to four guests. The farm is a working livestock and organic mixed produce farm with picturesque views, miles of wooded trails, and a beautiful fish pond.

Guests can access a refrigerator, microwave, sink with hot and cold water downstairs and upstairs a bathtub and toilet separated from the loft by a curtained alcove. Although the space downstairs is shared with horses, the upstairs is a private room all for our guests and the friendly barn kitty, Minx.

A Bed and Bale option is available for you and your equine friend. We are happy to accommodate you and your horses for an additional charge. The farm is located about ten minutes north of Palgrave, conveniently close to the equestrian venue.

Guests are welcome to visit our tiny farm gate store. We sell eggs, dairy, meat, seasonal vegetables, soaps, honey, syrup, and jams among other items. If we haven't got what you need, we can probably send you right up the road to another farm that has. Thank you for buying from and supporting small farms!

Guests can explore all 100 acres of our farm, woods, and fields.

This is a working farm and though the space is a quiet and peaceful break from the city, there are noises and SMELLS and sights associated with livestock farming that some individuals may not prefer. The cow moos in the morning, the sheep bleat, the horses whinny, the chickens cluck. The barn may at times be slightly DUSTY as the horses stir their bedding below and they may make sounds in their stalls at night. If the doors are left open, there will without doubt be INSECTS in the space. The loft is literally in a horse barn. We keep the living space beautifully clean and the barn is perfectly tidy but there are animals living in it. Animals smell and make noises. PLEASE consider CAREFULLY whether you are comfortable having a full farm experience before you book.

beautiful and rustic
The quiet atmosphere of the horses and goats in the stable, the snow falling outside, and listening to the records on the record player was a wonderful experience. This is not a hotel, nor should it be. This is a beautiful spot for when you want to wake to a rooster, take a beautiful walk in the woods and fall asleep listening to the animals downstairs. Thanks so much for sharing your home! Jody and Jess

The listing is actually in a stable of some sort which is used for the animals in the winter but rented during the summer, the smell is unbearable and many flies everywhere.
