This family vacation home has been renovated, furnished and equipped for our personal use and is available for other families to enjoy when we can't be there. We rented homes at Lake Anna for 5 years before deciding to buy one, and we quickly tired of 'cookie cutter' rental homes with bland, neutral finishes and cheap carpet and furniture. If you're looking for a comfortable, welcoming home environment from which to enjoy the lake, this is the property for you.
Our large extended family group stayed at this amazing home for a week over Christmas, and it exceeded every expectation. The photos truly don’t do it justice. The view from the huge expanded deck is simply stunning. If you go in spring, summer, or fall — or you’re lucky enough to get a warm winter day — grab your beverage of choice and congratulate yourself for finding such a great place.
The great room with the huge TV will be appreciated by movie buffs. Cooks will enjoy the wonderful kitchen, and people who don’t want to cook but want to socialize will appreciate the open floor plan. Winter visitors will appreciate the huge fireplace and firewood provided.
If you have a big group be sure to ask the owner about the apartment next door. The repurposed garage is great for gamers (video or good old ping pong). Above the former garage are two bedrooms, a bathroom, a small living area and a mini-kitchen. It’s ideal for teenagers or for people who want to be louder (or quieter) than the people in the main house.
Other misc. notes:
-Water lovers in the group will enjoy the lake access (lots of steps to get there, but well worth it), the canoe and the floating dock.
-Several seniors in our group who had various hip and knee replacements liked the fact that the house is on one level.
-Four legged family members will enjoy sniffing around the ivy covered front yard and leashed walks. With the abundant amount of birds, plus wildlife, plus other homes not on top of you but within several hundred yards, your dogs should have good recall or be trustworthy enough to hang out with their people pack on the huge (but ungated) deck. Just FYI, We found out at the end of our visit that there is a fenced dog park about 15 minutes away, but we weren’t able to check it out firsthand.
-If you’ve been considering new living room furniture, the power leather recliners in the great room could be hazardous to your wallet after you leave this amazing lakeside retreat.
-Tip: The luxurious master right off the kitchen should go to night owls who will enjoy late night great room conversations or movie-watching. Early birds should choose one of the bedrooms on the quieter wing of the house.
Last but not least, Mark, the owner, was incredibly responsive and helpful with our last-minute rental and questions. He couldn’t have been nicer to work with and gave us a late checkout, too. If you're going to Lake Anna, you can't go wrong renting this place!
4th year at lake Anna and this was by far the best home we have stayed at. Amenities in the house were top notch, short drive to local strip mall is priceless especially with 6 dads and 9 kids. We will be back.
This home goes down as the best place we have ever stayed at, and I have been going to Lake Anna every year for the past 10 years staying at different houses each time. I'm pretty confident that after our stay at Tahoe East that we will be looking to rent this one every year going forward. What an amazing view, incredibly well furnished and perfect location. I really appreciate all the info you provided Mark provided in preparation for our stay. Thanks again Mark!
Great house, great location, awesome dock and great views! Our group of 12 loved our stay. We were able to dock our boat in the extra slip and enjoy all the lake had to offer all week. We spent countless hours fishing from the dock, swimming out to swim deck, and kayaking. On our one rainy day, the house, apartment, and game room provided ample room for us all to spread out in and play games or do crafts and watch movies. We LOVED our stay!!!
This is a terrific, beautifully maintained home to relax for people of all ages. We rented the apartment also because we were celebrating a high school graduation and the beginning of college with our oldest grandson and he brought along some of his best friends. Adults and younger siblings enjoyed the main house and we hardly knew the others were there until mealtime! It was especially nice to have the covered boat dock and the location is perfect for tubing, swimming, and fishing. Lake Anna is a quiet, peaceful place so don't expect to find much night life. Just sit back and enjoy the 65 Inch tv in the living room and time with family.
I rented this amazing house over the holidays with a group of adults and we had a great time. The house is new and spacious with gorgeous views of the water. We had a great time even in the winter. We already decided we need to make another trip back over the summer. The house is private but still very close to the grocery store, etc if you need to get anything. We really enjoyed the fireplace and open living room. Thanks for an awesome trip!
