Guestbook comments from the owner
Thank you! We came to the area to see "Rush" in concert. We enjoyed staying in your home as much as the concert. The house was clean, nicely decorated, and the kitchen was stocked with drinks and snacks. Beautiful fresh flowers around the house, too. We enjoyed our "Sunday Funday" on Main Street. It was like a clean Bourbon Street. Our next trip to St. Louis will be planned around your availability. We've already started telling our friends to visit and stay here. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Thank You!

Our family of six loves to travel, and when we discovered the vacation home option instead of hotels, we knew we wanted a rental property of our own to share with others. We hope our cottages enhance your vacation like so many homes have done for us. We love meeting and talking with people from all over, so please feel free to give us a call!- Audrey and Matt

We've always loved Old Town St. Charles because of its charm, fun atmosphere, and historic architecture. When we saw this little brick house for sale we thought it was just perfect and would be a way for us to enjoy the area even more and let other people experience it too.

With everything in walking distance, we love that we don't have to pile everyone into the car when we want to go eat, shop, or play. The many festivities and events happening all year round, give the whole family something to enjoy.

LOVE THIS COZY LITTLE COTTAGE!

  • 5 of 5
I actually found this home on VRBO on a random google search and fell in love with the pictures immediately. After reading more than enough fantastic reviews, our family decided to stay here for our family vacation. I had honestly never heard of St. Charles before but we were looking for home to stay in vs a hotel and like I said, fell in love with this one right away. The home was immaculate when we arrived and was even cuter than in the pictures! It was perfect for our family of four. We have a teenager who stayed on the 3rd level and was happy with it as it offered her some privacy (there are two queen beds so more than enough space). We also have a four year old and the room off the kitchen on the second floor was the perfect size for her. I was a little concerned about her being on the main level by herself, but we just slid the living room chair against the front door at bedtime and closed the door partitioning the kitchen and living room and she was just fine (this was more just to make me feel better than anything else because she was totally fine).

They provided a basket of snacks for us and we had almost everything we needed already such as laundry soap, dish soap, etc. I asked the owner several questions before and during our stay and she was always quick to respond and had was always very pleasant! As you will note in several reviews, there is not a stove, but there is a large electric skillet and also a grill available in the backyard. We ate out the majority of the time but did make some meals using both and it was quite sufficient for our needs.

We did not realize just how much St. Charles had to offer until we got there and started venturing out. There is so much to do on Main Street which is only one block away! There are a ton of cute shops, restaurants, bars, etc and lots of History to investigate. The river is right off Main Street as well with a path along it for any of the avid runners / walkers out there.

As a helpful hint, this is a sleepy town (other than the bars) so make sure you check on hours of operation before heading out to explore. Also, the two best options for grocery stores are Aldi and IGA.

The home was about 30-40 minutes from all the attractions we visited. Even though it was a little bit of a drive vs staying in the city, I would absolutely recommend this as an alternative. After you've had a long day of tourism, it is nice to come back and unwind in this peaceful, lovely home!

A GREAT COTTAGE FOR A WEEKEND GETAWAY WITH THE GIRLS

  • 5 of 5
This past weekend (6/5 - 6/9), three friends and I rented this cottage for a girl's weekend. I live in St. Louis but they were all from other states (OH, IA, IN). We had a fabulous time! The cottage is just as cute and charming as can be and the owners took obvious care in making sure the place is well stocked and clean for guests. The yard would be terrific for families with small children since it is fenced. The cottage is just one street off of Main Street in St. Charles. We walked there every day to either shop or take advantage of the restaurants in town. We had breakfast two days at the Bike Shop Cafe (love the iced chai lattes and the belgian waffles) and once at Picasso's (the coffee cake was divine). We also had lunch at the Trailhead Brewery (yummy). The cottage is a great central location because it doesn't take long to get anywhere. We went to the City Museum (what a fabulous time! You have to see it to believe it!), the Lafayette Square House Tours, we did a concert in the park, and went to Wentzville to check out the Renaissance Fair.

But back to the cottage. What was so nice about the place, is that at night, when we were tired, it was a great place to return "home" to and it did feel like home. We just sat around and had some drinks and played games one night while taking advantage of some of the snacks and sodas that were also stocked. Thanks for the wonderful weekend!

AWESOME VACATION

  • 4 of 5
Great vacation home. We really enjoyed our stay for my brother's Wash U graduation. Everything was very clean. We had 3 elderly people with us and everything was easily accessible (first and second levels). There isn't a range or oven, but it forced us to explore the great restaurants nearby. Awesome vacation overall.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad your entire family could enjoy the guest house! For families wanting to cook, we do have a electric skillet, crock pot, toaster oven, toaster, and charcoal barbecue pit. But there are numerous marvelous restaurants within walking distance! We have a selection of menus from the area restaurants in the house for guests to browse. Thanks again for staying with us, and we hope to have you return soon!

We had such a fabulous time in this beautiful little home! It has everything you'd need for a getaway weekend. So close to all the fun shops, bars, and restaurants! Only a few minutes from a fabulous casino and a short drive to a few amazing malls in Chesterfield! Back to the house...it's gorgeous, super clean, and so cozy! We absolutely loved staying there and will for sure be back again next year!!!!!

Stayed at this charming home with 3 of my old high school classmates for a Girl's weekend. The location could not be better...within walking distance to restaurants and shops. It was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the coffee and snacks that was provided. I would definitely stay here again. It was perfect!!!
