However, we do have very nice condos available at Desert Princess as well.
Desert Princess is a 500 acre full service Golf and Tennis resort located just 7 minutes to downtown Palm Springs, the airport and the Convention Center.
Located on the Palm Springs/Cathedral City property line, Desert Princess features a 27 hole championship golf course, Professional Tennis Center, Fitness Center, Spa, Driving Range, Putting Greens, Pro Shop, and fine dining at Leon's at Desert Princess, including Happy Hour from 5-7.
All homes at Desert Princess are single story on the golf course, with outstanding mountain, water, or golf course views.
Desert Princess is also just 5 minutes away from I-10, which runs directly to Los Angles 100 miles to the West, and is also 100 mile to San Diego, and the Beaches of Orange County. Las Vegas and Phoenix are about 5 hours by car.
I've been coming out to Palm Springs now for over 10 years.
It has certain qualities that it shares with Key West, where I live most of the year.... a relaxed attitude, slower pace, appreciation of nature, and an artistic temperment.
I grew up in the Midwest, and don't miss the snow. But I do find the people still have a midwestern 'niceness' about them in Palm Springs.
The history of Palm Springs is wonderful.
Everyone who was anyone in Hollywood in the 40's and 50's lived here. Take the tour around town next time your're in town. You can still hear plenty of stories about the old days if you talk to the locals.
Timothy Gaffney purchased this villa in 2010
Desert Princess is the best value in the Valley.
The grounds are impecible. The golf course is very good. And the location is much better than being out farther in the Valley at the larger -- and much more expensive Country Clubs in Indian Wells or LaQuinta.
We are just 7 minutes away from I-10. And a 10 minute drive to the airport, the convention center, or downtown Palm Springs or Rancho Mirage.
LA and San Diego are just 100 miles away as well for a nice day trip.
When you can rent a home on the golf course for the price of a decent hotel room, you know you're getting a pretty good deal.
Try Billie Reed's on Indian Canyon Drive. One of the best deals in the Desert for a good home cooked meal. Don't forget to take the Tram. And see the Annenberg Estate now that it is open.
I love to check out the Estate Sale and Misty's for bargins.(One artist I know said he couldn't wait to buy some stuff there after a famous actor recently passed away).
Palm Springs has always had a funky kind of charm. You can do a lot, or do nothing. But there is almost always sunshine. And interesting people.
We have rented one of Tim's villa's for the past 9 years. The villa is well equipped and very clean. If any issues arise they are dealt with promptly by Tim the owner or his on site concierge Gail. We have recommended Tim's rentals to
friends and relatives.
No one could have been more surprised than we that we enjoyed our stay at Desert Princess so much. We have never rented in a gated community before.
It was great! Tim and Gail are very helpful. The house was very clean and well set up with just about everything we needed.
The whole complex is well maintained.
But the real highlight is the area. Palm Springs is a Mecca for outdoor oriented people. We spent an entire month hiking and touring the area. The Palm Springs Art Museum is a gem. Palm Springs is an area we will return to again and again. Loved it all.
The Desert Princess is a lovely golf course community, very close to downtown Palm Springs. The location was great and easy. Our rental home was spacious, clean and modern. Nice view of a pond from the back patio. The complex has 4 lap swimming pools that were never busy and many smaller sunning pools. They were never crowded. The community is gated, and the guard house was friendly and helpful. If you like a quiet atmosphere, this is it. Residents are friendly - mostly 50+, and low key. We enjoyed a huge kitchen and large dining room table with a pretty view so if you don't want to eat out all the time, this unit is terrific. It's pleasant to walk the grounds. We did not end up golfing but the course looked inviting - it made for a pretty view.
We decided to stay at Desert Princess over Memorial Day weekend because we wanted to golf. We looked at a few different places to rent and are so happy we went with this one. Tim was very nice and easy to work with via email. Also, our concierge was very helpful when we called and had a question about the FREE WiFi.
Relaxing in the living room was great. There is a wall of windows on the whole back side of the house with views out to the golf course. We enjoyed watching people go by throughout the day.
Beds were comfortable and bedrooms spacious. Both bedrooms had great bathrooms for full privacy, plus a half bath in the hallway for convenience. The house was very clean. The nearest pool is across the fairway although there is another one at the end of the long street. We ended up not using it although we walked over to check it out. Water was warm/heated and jacuzzi hot.
If you're hesitant to rent this place, rest assured you will be very comfortable here.
