Located in central Austin - less than 3 miles from downtown, this home - built in the early 1900's - has a comforting old feel with great modern updates including a modern kitchen and master bath. The home has three bedrooms: a master bedroom with queen-size bed and master bath, two upstairs bedrooms each with full-size beds. There is a futon couch in a private office that converts to a full-size bed as well. The spacious and bright kitchen is the perfect social spot with an eat-in nook and an island to work at or congregate around. The home is a comfortable 2,400 square feet with a generous wrap-around porch overlooking a maintained landscape. Located 5 blocks north of the UT Campus, this home is convenient to downtown and all the places that make Austin unique.

We've been told that we have the 'best porch in Austin' and we agree. There are many evenings we've sat on the porch swing, under the fans, watching the kids play in the fenced in front yard and the neighborhood stroll by! You can hear music drifting up Waller Creek from 6th St. and imagine the night life going on downtown or, better yet, hop on the #7 bus and get right into the action!

What makes this house unique

While staying at our home in Hyde Park you can choose to just blend in - the massive magnolia tree in the front yard gives you plenty of privacy or, say hello to our awesome neighbors who are always happy to extend a helping hand. You'll feel like you're in your own personal B&B with Carmen coming to straighten up while you are out!

Great home in great neighborhood!!!

Our group of six spent a wonderfully comfortable week here. This is a beautifully maintained old home with hardwood floors throughout, a huge front porch, and a huge yard all in a pleasant neighborhood. Despite the home's age it has all the modern conveniences. The kitchen and bathrooms are all newly renovated, the washer and dryer are practically brand new, and the air conditioning kept the house very comfortable. The home was also kept immaculate by the cleaning lady's daily visits. We really felt like we were staying at a luxury resort!

The neighborhood provided almost everything we needed within walking distance. Groceries and restaurants were a short walk as was the University of Texas campus. Downtown was only a couple miles away; easily accessible by car or bus or even a longer walk.

We will definitely try to stay at this home when we return to Austin next and we will encourage all our friends to stay here too!
