Avoid! Not as advertised!
Although the house and setting are beautiful, this property is not as advertised. The "6th" bedroom is a dining area with a large table and chairs. One of the beds is a pullout sofa. The owner claims it sleeps 12-14, we had 13 people with 3 on sofas and 1 having to sleep on the floor.
The "to die for" kitchen is ill-equipped for a large number of people so bring your own dishes or buy paper. Every counter, cabinet and even inside the micowave was covered with tiny ants upon our arrival and throughout our stay.
One of the whirlpool tubs leaks into the bedroom underneath it and the outside hot tub was too contaminated to use.
The elevator with "access to all floors" only goes to one since it does not work.
The owner lives in an RV in the driveway. Don't be surprised to see him everyday cleaning the pool, taking care of the birds, or doing yardwork. He keeps a close eye on his property and you by being ever-present.
The grand tour at the beginning of our stay was overwheming as it is a large house. We never thought to make sure everything was working, not leaking, not damaged upon our arrival. When you leave, the owner will not walk through the house with you-"It is too big and not enough time". Because of that, you can kiss your hefty deposit goodbye. You will never see that money again.
Owner's Response: The 6th bedroom is a Oceanfront conference room with its own bath!The home has a beautiful separate dinning room, overlooking the Ocean!! The home boast 5 whirlpool spas, one of them outside overlooking the ocean and clear as crystal.The Kitchen is very well equipped with ever utensil known to man, and the ant problem was from all the dirty dishes and rotten food left in the kitchen, they never cleaned a glass as far as we know, they used every pot and pan , glass plate cup in the house and they were scattered everywhere! They also rearranged the furniture, and brought beach chairs off the beach including the sand into their bedrooms.We will never have more than 10-12 people ever again, these people had 14 with a large dog that scratched all of our Mahogany floors and doors,they overfilled our upstairs spa, and ruined the ceiling and expensive light fixture, the guy complaining drove his car into our front wall at the entrance of the home causing 2000.00 damage, the home was so dirty it took 4maids and my wife and I, 4days to clean and organize after they left,and their hefty deposit was 1500.00 which was not even close to paying for the damage! We dont live in the prevost coach in the driveway,we live in the home that we laid out a 6million dollar cash down payment for, excuse me!!,anyway we have a area behind a 10ft privacy wall that was designed for the coach, the property is 2acres and the driveway is 30,000sqft of pavers, we stay there when we have guests renting the home, the estate takes alot of maintenance, hands on to keep running smooth, we dont just turn the keys over to 8million dollar home, with over a million in contents,artwork and antiques for 10k and say good luck take care of everthing!! see ya!! Where there to maintain the pool and spa, take care of the parrots, keep the yard clean, answer questions, show the guests how things work, take people jet skiing, maintiain the bicycles, and scooters,front gate, helping people stuck in the elevator,it works fine, people just dont know how to use it, it takes experience, thats all!! help with fishing and snorkel gear, give directions, we dont ever come into the house or bother our guests, if you dont need us, you will never see us except early in the morning for the pool and aviary,were usually gone from the property by early morning and we also have a maintenance man you will see from time to time, his name is allen!
