This unique, large property wows everyone who visits. It has a beautiful, completely private setting with unobstructed 180 degree views of a salt marsh and salt water pond. Walk only one-quarter mile to Cape Cod Bay! At low tide you can hike almost one mile out to Sandy Neck. An excellent private sandy beach on Cape Cod Bay is only two miles away, with more beaches nearby on the South side.

This owner-designed Cape Cod style home has 9 rooms and 7 beds, including two completely private MBR suites with full baths. The downstairs MBR (and entire ground floor) are handicap accessible, while the one upstairs has its own deck among the treetops. You can relax in the family room, living room or on either deck; read in the study; and eat in the dining room or screened-in porch at sunset.

About The Owner

Your friendly hosts Peter and Gail Adler live in Wellesley. Peter is a lawyer turned businessman and Gail teaches at Harvard Medical School. We love to hike, kayak and sail on the warm tidal Cape Cod Bay.

Why The Owner chose Yarmouth

Peter's mother designed the house and garden. It's really unique with an almost 180 degree view of a salt marsh and tidal pond, with only one other house in view far across the pond.

Perfect Cape Experience

We have stayed many times at this lovely home in Yarmouthport. Sitting on the porch is the perfect relaxing Cape vacation. The house is clean and tidy, warmly decorated with family furniture - just makes you feel at home. The neighborhood offers relaxing walks, and a beautiful view from the end of the street, plus good access to Cape Cod bay for boaters. There is a lake nearby for swimming. We recommend buying a National Seashore pass and visiting the outer beaches - Coast Guard, Marconi, Cahoon's Hollow - as well as visiting the galleries of Wellfleet and Provincetown. A wonderful vacation !

Great Vacation Home

Our criteria for a family vacation was well met with our stay at this house. It is in a great area- quiet, great views and a short walk to the water, as well as convenient to any shopping we needed to do. The house is huge and provided comfort and privacy for everyone, even separate decks so you could read on one and socialize on the other. We had all the amenities that are important to us, and then some. As people who like to prepare meals at home, we were happy to have a well stocked kitchen with good quality cookware. We enjoyed dinners on the screened porch. We also took advantage of the kayaks that are available. The owner responded to questions promptly and offered whatever he could to make an enjoyable stay.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. We have a new gas boiler. This spring (2013) we are painting the outside, redoing the decks and part of the roof, and got new nautical style lamps. We are looking forward to this summer's vacationers.

Great vacation home for a large family

Overall we really enjoyed staying in this house. We had my whole family stay which totaled 6 adults and 5 kids. The layout of the house was nice so that you could get away when you needed to. We were able to have privacy, but be together when we wanted.

I would say the description of the house was accurate. There was plenty of supplies provided for us as well (toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, etc). The owner was very responsive and helpful with all questions/concerns.

The house could have had better upkeep, but for a rental it was really all we needed. There was plenty of outdoor space to relax, plenty of choices on where to eat (we pretty much ate in the screened in dinning area every day), the hammock on the upper deck was a really nice touch too. There was a lovely view from their and it was a great spot to unwind.

I would recommend this house to others. There are a number of restaurants and an ice cream place that we walked to from the house as well. There is also a beautiful walk if you continue down the road.

Lovely Classic Home

Our stay in Yarmouthport was very nice, highlighted by our comfortable accomodation at this home. The house has a lot of history, and is filled with lovely antiques, artwork and books, and family games. The kitchen was charming and had vintage appliances for meal preparation. We enjoyed having four large bedrooms, and the beautiful screened porch was our favorite dining spot. The owner was very responsive and tried to take care of all of our needs.
The local area is low-key, with many beaches, and easy water access or boating and swimming. We especially loved Corporation Beach and Dennis Pond. We also enjoyed the nearby restaurants, and wonderful ice cream shops. I would recommend this home for a visit to Cape Cod.

Fun in Cape Cod

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the home we rented while vacationing in Cape Cod. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Set in natural surroundings, the house is beautiful. As we drove up to the front of the house, it looked a little older and smaller than we expected, but once we got inside, it was beautiful. The house itself was perfect for our family of 10 (including 2 young children and elderly parents). The layout and space and back decks were beautiful and very comfortable for those moments where we wanted to stay in. There were 2 front entrances - which made getting in and out easier with so many people. 2 masters was also a huge bonus. The 2nd master had it's own exit/entrance which was really nice. We also really loved the spacious kitchen - it had all of the amenities we needed to cook 4 out of the 6 nights - and enough tableware to accommodate all of us comfortably!

Another plus was the proximity to major towns - that was helpful especially with such a large party. The good beaches - soft sand, no rocks - for kids - was about 15-30 minutes away. There was a small beach less than 5 min away so that was nice for our quick "run around the beach" afternoons with the kids or for the adults to get some sun. Everyone we met in town was really nice and helpful.

The owners were great too! We felt that they had done everything they could to help us feel comfortable in their home. We had one small/tiny bug problem and Peter addressed it immediately and alleviated our concerns. One of our family members is deathly afraid of anything that wasn't invited to join our party (harmless spiders, etc.) so a house set in such a beautiful natural setting would not have been her choice - but the rest of us (including the kids) loved it!!!

Activities - we kept it pretty low key. We took a whale watching tour off of Hannis Harbor - that was awesome! And we went to Martha's Vineyard for one day. We spent a lot of time on the beach or hanging out at home. Everything was very accessible from the house (in Yarmouth).

Overall, a great place to stay!! We would recommend it to everyone!!!
