Escape to our mountain lakefront retreat to relax, recharge, and have fun in delicious privacy. Enjoy swimming or boating in the pristine lake from our private dock. Enjoy stunning lake views through the oversized windows in nearly every room or as you sit on the covered porch.

Custom-built in 2008, the house has everything you need for a fun family vacation or reunion, a romantic getaway or a girlfriend retreat. With 3 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, two living rooms, a well-stocked kitchen with two dishwashers, broadband Wi-Fi, linens/paper products provided, & luxe bedding, we believe that our home will feel like home to you also. Sip your morning coffee on our porch while enjoying a fire.

Enjoy the lake view from the master bathtub. Be captivated as the sunset fades & stars take over. Have a ping pong tournament. Everything is ready for your arrival and it’s our hope that you can relax, rejuvenate and enjoy the mountain getaway you deserve.

Master bedroom has a king-size bed, the second bedroom has a queen-size bed and a single, the third bedroom has a queen bed, and the den has a set of bunkbeds, a double futon, and a daybed.

While you're here take a day-long Hunger Games Fan Tour in the nearby Dupont State Forest to see some of the movie locations and experience the world of Katniss and Peeta first hand.

Why Reservations chose Brevard

We grew up in Brevard so we know about the natural beauty of the area. We inherited this lakehouse from one of our parents who in 2008 built this special lake retreat house, called Belonging Place, so that she and groups she cared about could renew themselves in the beautiful, quiet mountains and the mesmerizing lake.

Take a Hunger Games Fan Tour in the nearby Dupont State Forest to see some of the movie locations and experience the world of Katniss and Peeta first hand. Search for some of the 250 waterfalls in the area. Adventure in Dupont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, Gorges State Park - all offer trails for hiking and mountain biking. Tour the Biltmore Estate & Winery - George Vanderbilt's mansion is Americas' largest private home. Hear a concert at the Brevard Music Center. Raft on the French Broach River. Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Plenty of counters and a bar allow for ample space for food prep, 2 undermount sinks, and 2 dishwashers allow for quick clean up and many hands in the kitchen at the same time. In the cabinets you'll find generous storage space for your food items and full china service for 16, along with juice, water, and wine glasses. There are serving bowls and platters, along with big trays for taking food to the porch or the grill or eating lakeside. You'll also find a variety of teas, a supply of hot chocolate & some coffee to get you started that first morning along with plenty of mugs.

Belonging

After a perfect weekend here, two things will serve to summarize the experience for us: 1) the name - Belonging Place - could not be more fitting; and 2) the caution sign in the downstairs bathroom - "Slow, Playing." Slow playing in a place where everyone feels he/she belongs!!

It is wonderful to feel this relaxed after these deliciously quiet and serene days and nights on the Lake. My cup of gratitude runneth over. This was a time to catch up with myself, reflect, write, wander, loaf, and pay attention. Frankly it is not easy to leave the comfort and beauty of this home.
