Cottage living right in town. Walk to the city beach, playgrounds and Manistee's riverwalk, all within two blocks. Downtown shopping, restaurants, museums and live theater in the historic Ramsdell Opera House are all about ten minute's walk. The horn of a Great Lakes ship signals its approach to the river channel just minutes away. Ships cruise past you - bigger than life - just two blocks from the cottage.

All summer long there are jazz concerts at the beach and band concerts along the river.

Mountain biking and hiking trails are nearby. Golf courses are plentiful. There is a municipal marina on the river channel and one on Manistee Lake for boat enthusiasts. It's your choice, do it all or nothing at all. You'll want to return again and again.

Large, well-equipped kitchen with dining to seat 6 to eight.

Refrigerator, 4 burner gas stove, dishwasher, microwave. Coffee maker, toaster, blender, hand mixer, crock pot.

Laundry - full size washer and dryer.

If the lake is not appealing, try tubing, kayaking, or canoeing on the Manistee River. If fishing is your passion this area is the largest fishery in Michigan for salmon and steelhead. Many charter opportunities available by the 1/2 day or full day. River charters also available, If you prefer to golf there are 12+ beautiful courses within a 45 mile radius including Arcadia Bluffs (Golf Digest, #10 in US). Blue Cottage - Manistee 971578

This cottage was a GREAT deal. It was clean, well-maintained and located within walking distance of both the beach and downtown. The breakfast restaurants in the area are great and we even found a gym only 7 minutes away. The kitchen was very large and well-stocked with everything we needed. There was a gas grill in the back yard that we used frequently. The owners provided exceptional cusomer service -- they have even agreed to send back (free of charge) items that we left behind. Ofen pictures viewed on-line make a rental appear better than it really is -- this was NOT the case with this little blue cottage. It came better than advetised, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxed, easy vacation away from crowded resorts.

We loved this cottage! We are so glad we ended up in Manistee! We had never been to Michigan and preferred a small town with charm. The location of this cottage was perfect. You can walk one direction and you are at the beach where we would watch the sun set. You walk the other direction and you are at the river walk, where we hooked up at the marina for our charter fishing trip. The house was clean and maintained with a large back yard where we ate a couple of meals at the picnic table. The owner is so nice, he even provided an extra bike for my son when I told him we like to ride bikes! I would much rather stay in this cottage than the cookie cutter condos across the way! If we make it back to Michigan, I would stay here again!

Location, Location, Location

When we arrived to the house we rented we were so pleased to find it in the middle of all the action for Forest Festival weekend. We could walk to the beach for the fireworks, two blocks to the parade and one block behind the house was the beautiful riverwalk.

The house was clean and well maintained. The decor was simple and classy. It was like going home for vacation.

We loved the big kitchen and huge fenced in back yard.

I highly recommend this house to anyone going to Manistee. If you want to park your car for the week and live a simpler life reserve this place! The owners were very easy to work with and we had no isseue.
