Overview

Oroville Lodge Rental Photos and Description

6000 sq ft waterfront lodge, 9 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, sleeps up to 22

The Lodge at Palmer lake is located on 30 acres with over 300 feet of waterfront on beautiful Palmer Lake in Okanogan county, WA. Palmer lake is about 30 minutes south of the vacation resort area of Osoyoos, BC. The Lodge has 4 levels, 6000 square feet fully furnished with 9 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms. a relaxing screened-in porch, wrap-around deck with huge timbers, a massive stone fireplace, pool table, ping pong, full kitchen / dining area, wine cellar, family room with a 75" flat screen and Dolby 7.1 surround sound for movie night and broadband wifi.

Palmer Lake provides a myriad of outdoor opportunities throughout the year including excellent fishing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and more. There are extensive ATV trails in the area, wineries to tour including the Okanagan ‘Golden Mile’ and golf close by. Ice skating, sledding and snowmobiling at the lodge make for fun wintertime activities.

Palmer lake is in Okanogan County, WA and covers 2100 acres, is about 5 miles long and 80 feet deep. It is surrounded by mountains, rolling hills, and orchards.

Water sports:

Swimming, waterskiing, wakeboarding, tubing - you name it! In summertime the water gets quite warm. In the wintertime many people get out on the lake for ice skating and ice fishing.

Fishing:

Palmer Lake has rainbow trout, kokanee salmon ,eastern brook trout, brown trout, Lahontan cutthroat trout, and black crappie. It is also well known by insiders for both large and smallmouth bass. There is also burbot, bluegill, northern pikeminnow, lake whitefish, and peamouth, yellow perch and walleye. Anglers are allowed to fish the lake year-round.

The Beach:

Palmer Lake Lodge is situated on 30 acres with 300+ feet of lake front. The local road to Loomis divides the property, with the lake on one side and the beach on the other. The beach is made of small smooth and flat stones. It is shallow enough for small kids to wade/swim safely close to shore but deep enough to allow for a boat tie-up off shore. There is a large anchor with a buoy and boat tie-up available.

•A vacation getaway and lodging experience right here in Washington state like homes in the Adirondack mountains of New York

•A true Pacific Northwest lodge, originally built by the Biles family of the Biles-Coleman Lumber Company in the Omak, WA area

•A lake cabin in Okanogan county's Many Lakes Recreational Area where you can lake hop and fish to your heart's content

•An alternative to a British Colombia getaway at expensive resort that you can use as home base to tour the Okanagan Valley Wine Country or go Okanagan Golfing

•A vacation destination where celebrities from the '30s and '40s came to get away from it all

•A lodging experience with the feel of a Mountain lake resort where wildlife viewing can be done from the deck

•A place close to old mining establishments where you can go cave hunting and spelunking through old gold mines, or gold panning in the Similkameen River south of Oroville

•The best beach on Palmer lake and one of the best beaches in the Okanagan

•Canadian Okanagan lodging where you can experience the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival and other festivals in the Thompson Okanagan

•A place to stay close to other Hwy 97 lodging alternatives that breaks up your trip from Seattle to Banff but may well be the highlight of your trip

•A country escape far away from cell phones and computers

About Dana Young

We enjoy spending time with friends and family at the lake. On the water, waterskiing & wake surfing are big on my list.

Dana Young purchased this lodge in 2004

Why Dana Young chose Oroville

Sunshine, lakefront, historical location, smooth water, great fishing!

What makes this lodge unique

The lodge has a rich history in the area, it is great to hear stories from old-timers in the area. We were able to contact the original owners and read through the guestbooks they kept over the years - dating back to the 1930s! We've invested heavily to update the place. Check out 'Lodge at Palmer Lake' on facebook for the 'before' pictures of our remodel efforts.

We Loved Our Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 14 loved staying at The Lodge at Palmer Lake. The facility was clean, numerous rooms made for all the privacy anyone needed, and the common areas were great for family dinners and activities. The owners were gracious and accommodating with our schedules. Not many places where we can have the pleasure of no TV or cell service and a family enjoying the beauty and recreation of the area!

Perfect getaway location!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay at The Lodge for our scrapbook retreat and we love it!! The location and property are even more beautiful than the pictures. The owner and caretaker are wonderful people to work with and we look forward to our stay every fall and spring. A few of the ladies that attend enjoy walking every day and taking in the scenery.

Home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

Over the last few years I have hosted 3 different groups at the Lodge at Palmer Lake. I work for a beef company who has a ranch up the road and stay at the lodge when we bring customers up for tours. The lodge is always clean and comfortable. There is a great kitchen which is fully stocked with all of the essentials and lots of room for everyone to relax. The fireplace is always stocked with wood and the pool table and ping pong tables are great entertainment. One day I will make it up for a personal trip so I can take advantage of the lake and outdoor recreation in the area. I would recommend the lodge to anyone looking to truly "get away" and enjoy some peace and nature with their friends and families.

You will not find anything better!

  • 5 of 5

Last August was my families 4th straight summer here and we are soon be there for our 5th. We have many lake resorts in BC and have been to many which led us to the "Lodge at Palmer Lake" on a search for more ideas. Well....this is a true gem of a find and have never been to anything that compares. This lodge and lake has brought my family together to great extents with true "family time" in the lodge and of course, on the water. Incredible lodge with high end living, 2 heat pumps for great central A/C, 2 fridges(one for liquid bevy's), antique huge billiards table and great sitting room and ping pong table upstairs. The lake is the best, 27 degrees, clean, very little boat action on the lake so it is so safe, no neighbors and your own private beach and dock. My kids have all learned to wakeboard and are very good at it all because of this lake and lodge with water like glass and then add fishing at night and you have it all. There is a small store 10 minutes away for a quick run to get essentials and then you have bigger stores 30 min. away.

Enjoy the process of planning and preparing as a family/group and you will have the most amazing time away together and leave technology and social media behind for a week. The website says it all so read through it and see the pics and it is all true but nothing can tell the story of what a vacation like this can do for a family and friends.

We love the LODGE AT PALMER LAKE and look forward to summer #5 coming up!

Rejuvenating Nature and Luxury

  • 5 of 5

The natural setting is as rejuvenating as ever, and then there's the renovated luxury interior. If you love wood in all its myriad uses, you're in for a treat as this building is rich with incredible works of wood in the siding, beams, floors, and millwork, both from the original construction and the new additions. Also, one of my epiphanies from this stay is that slate tile is absolutely the best material to step onto when you get out of the shower. Beautiful, warm, and quick drying. Love it.

Bird watching is another great "activity" here. In my stroll around the property, I saw a Western Red Tanager and lots of Hummingbirds. And twice we had the awe inspiring experience of seeing, from a few meters' distance, huge Ospreys and White Tailed Eagles swoop down to the lake and grab themselves a fish. Of course their fishing skills far surpassed ours, but we did catch a few fish ourselves, and they tasted so good baked or fried the next day.

Since it was warm, we also got to enjoy many swims in the fresh, clear lake.

My attempt to water ski may have been lame, but there's got to be a first time for everything.

So much fun, relaxation, laughs with friends and family...amazing vacation. I'm still on the high of the memories.
