This modern self-catering apartment is part of the aptly named paraiso (paradise) complex. With palm trees, coconut parasols around the pool and exotic bird of paradise and banana trees in the grounds. The property also has its own private garden. A peaceful place to relax on the sun loungers or enjoy the barbecue & al fresco meals on the terrace. There are two communal pools a good size indoor and an outdoor which includes a paddling pool. If you intend to go sight-seeing & hire a car, there is an allotted parking space in the underground car park. Car hire is not necessary to enjoy the town of Nerja, 15 mins walk away or Burriana beach a mere 5mins. Burriana has a fantastic range of resturants for snacks, local specialities; giant paella, grilled sardines, enjoy a flamenco show, or a romantic evening meal by the sea. All are child friendly, typical of the warm Spanish welcome you receive here.

Nerja is a delightful Mediterranean haven. The sub-tropical climate boasts all year sunshine, with 13kms of beaches and the backdrop of the impressive Almijara Mountains and National parkland. Once a sleepy fishing village, Nerja has grown with the tourist industry and is a perfect base, from which to explore the best of Andalucia. The unspoilt coastline offers a chance to enjoy watersports and explore the rocky inlets, diving or snorkelling. The local, whitewashed villages are worth a visit to sample traditional produce and crafts. Another 'must' visit are the famous Nerja caves with their magnificent stalactites, revered by the first Palaeolithic settlers. Taking a drive out, you can visit the historic cities of Granada (Alhambra Palace) or Malaga (birthplace of Picasso). For the golfer, it is a 30mins drive to the nearest course (Baviera). Trips to Morocco or Gibraltar and even skiing in the nearby Sierra Nevada resort, are also, all favourite excursions.

There is seating for four people at the kitchen table and the garden terrace has an extending wooden table for eight. Padded cushions for the chairs and sun loungers are provided. The separate utility/laundry room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and iron/ironing board.Nearby is a double cupboard for all cleaning equipment. In the lounge there is a large plasma screen TV and the view of the garden through the French windows. For internet access there is a wireless broadband service, available from a local cocktail bar, 5min. walk to Burriana beach. Valparaiso is a small, beautifully landscaped complex, home to permanent residents and holiday makers. It is a peaceful site with easy access to the apartment. The gated entrances provide security and privacy and is suitable for singles, couples or young families.

Activities and Sight-seeing: EAST/NE OF NERJA: Go to the almunecar web site to review the delights of the Costa Tropical. This site also includes information on Granada and the ski resort Solynieve, Sierra Nevada. The extraordinary Pena Escrita, natural park is well worth a visit. WEST/NW OF NERJA: Go to the malaga-info site to explore the Costa del Sol. Popular day trips include Ronda and the many theme parks on offer around the picturesque port of Benalmadena, such as: Tivoli Amusement park 38 rides, themed shows and botanical/fountain gardens, Sealife where you are able to feed the rays, Selwomarina to watch the dolphins and penguins. Another great day out is at the Telefrico, 4 person cable cars, offering a 15mins trip 800m above sea level, birds of prey and the opportunity to see Spanish dressage and enjoy donkey rides.

Outdoor Pursuits & Sports:: OUTDOOR: Go to diving-in-Spain site for details of the following: Scuba diving, snorkelling along the Nerja coastline, as well as mountain bike hire, jeep safaris, guided walks and horse riding. GOLF: Go to golf-costa and click onto Velez Malaga for the Baviera course and Rincon de la Victoria for the Anoreta course, within a 30-40 minute drive. TENNIS: La Raqueta, opposite Hotel Nerja Club, offers 3 courts for hire in hourly blocks for €8/court. Racquet hire available, showers on site and terrace restaurant/bar.

My family and I stayed in this apartment for 9 days this summer and had a wonderful experience from arrival to departure. We were warmly greeted to an immaculately prepared apartment. Every room was spotless with good quality furniture and fittings throughout. It was nicer than even the description depicted.I found this apartment most suitable for my young family's needs. The dvd player, satellite tv and generous book & dvd collection for use were much utilised and greatly appreciated, Washer/Dryer were of great benefit while the kitchen looked like it had never even been used. We were most impressed, Secure and safe gated garden with plenty of room for sunbathing, playing etc. Access to the pool was quick and easy and also secure. The walk to the beach and shops took 10 minutes. The walk down was fine however we did feel it would be a little steep for the elderly or anyone with disabilities. We were able to walk to the centre of nerja in a about 15 minutes and liked being close but not in the middle of the town.
We loved everything about the apartment and the complex and will most definitely return again.
