Berrier is only a 10 minute drive from either Penrith or Keswick, both of which cater for tourists with excellent shopping and leisure facilities. One of the most beautiful and peaceful of the Lake District National Park areas, Ullswater lies within a 15 minute drive and Lake Windermere, with the busy tourist centres of Ambleside and Windermere itself, a further 30 minutes. For those who enjoy walking, Bells Farm is ideally suited as a base to set off up Blencathra, Skiddaw, Helvelyn or many smaller fells. Mountain bikers will find a variety of challenging and more straight forward routes. There is excellent birdwatching in the area and up on the Solway coast. For those with a more adventurous spirit, a newly opened 'Going Ape' adventure centre in the trees is close by. A slightly longer drive will take those interested in the history of Britain to the Roman Wall.
