BOCAGRANDE BEACHFRONT PENTHOUSE - EXCLUSIVE, PRIVATE, IN THE HEART OF EVERYTHING

We stayed in a roomy and well preserve place, with the amenities like home, very
convenient, located in the heart of the tourist area of Cartagena, close to the main
attractions.
The common areas of the building probably requiring some work, but the cordial
treatment giving by the administrative collaborators made us feel quite welcome.
We do recommend the apartment for families or groups up to six.

This well appointed condo is located in Bocagrande which is a few minutes south of the walled city by taxi. It is very spacious and was perfect for our group of 6 Californians.

When we arrived we were greeted by Pedro and his wife Marta, they were very patient with our broken Spanish and helpful. The owner of the condo, Ruth was available by email and phone at anytime, and was very helpful to us.

We found it to be very clean and well maintained.

The property is the entire 13th floor of an ocean facing building. The windows of the main room all open and the ocean breeze fills the house which was very nice (the AC is only in bedrooms, but works well). There are a number of great restaurants near by and also grocery stores, bars, etc.

Our group felt very safe and had no negative incidents. The only complaint we had was that only one of the two elevators worked, and it was very slow as it serviced the entire building.

Overall, it was an excellent experience and I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the Cartagena area.

What a wonderful trip our family had, and the apartment was everything we had hoped for. Cartagena has changed a lot over the last ten years, and today it is as fine a city as any we have visited throughout the world. As Americans, we had high expectations after reading all the promotion of Cartagena as a World Heritage Center, and the jewel of South America with over 500 years of interesting history as a primary port and fortress for Spain.

The apartment had one of the best views we could have hoped for. We could see out all four sides of the apartment since it is a penthouse of the entire floor. We overlooked the beach below us, where we could see soccer games and beach walkers parading about, and of course the infinite Caribbean water view and sunset was spectacular. However we also enjoyed viewing the Old City at night which was breathtaking.

The spacious master bedroom, living room and kitchen allowed for a continuous breeze from the Caribbean that kept the apartment cool so there was not much need for using the air conditioning. There were flat screen TVs in all three bedrooms, many English speaking cable channels, local phones and a good WIFI system. The kitchen was large for cooking, and utilized American appliances and granite countertops which we appreciated.

We were able to walk to just about everywhere we wanted to go, including the 24 hour grocery and pharmacy, and the many of world class hotels, shopping and restaurants in Bocagrande. We were also 5 minutes away from the downtown and Old City by taxi which costs us between 5 and 6 American dollars in transport.

The city and the apartment made us feel safe at all times. The apartment has 24 hour guard security and maintenance, and ample police where ever we visited. The people we met throughout out trip were gentle and kind, helpful and generous. We never felt uncomfortable with the locals since we were foreigners, and there were plenty of English speaking tourist shops, jewelry stores, hotel lobbies, and taxi drivers.

We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend the city and the apartment.
