This three-bedroom, two-bath immaculate cabin in Montana's Paradise Valley looks out over the Yellowstone River and is a short, gorgeous drive from Yellowstone National Park. If you need room for more people, ask us about options.

You'll feel like the river runs right through the home. You will enjoy this unique opportunity to spend time along the last major wild river in America! Stunning views of the Absaroka and Gallatin Mountain Ranges are yours to enjoy along with the bald eagles often seen in the cottonwood grove across the river. Guests can walk out the door and go fishing or floating right from the house at the private Yellowstone River access.

This sweet cabin is offered year round for your river and mountain getaway retreat or family vacation and offers you all the comforts and conveniences you will want in a most gorgeous Yellowstone River setting in the Paradise Valley. The home has a tasteful, cozy western style with beautiful wood and tile floors, unique artwork, and custom, handmade, log furniture to enjoy.

The three cozy bedrooms all with outstanding mountain views can accommodate up to six guests. The master bedroom is downstairs, with a queen-size log bed, 32' flat screen satellite TV, and a full bath with shower. The spiral staircase leads you to two more bedrooms upstairs. The upper floor consists of one bedroom with a queen-size log bed, and another bedroom with a log frame bunk bed. If you need to accommodate more people, please contact us for options.

You'll find cozy down comforters on all of the beds. A full bath upstairs is shared by these two bedrooms. If you happen to need one, you will even find a playpen/crib in one of the bedrooms. In addition, one adult size portable twin mattress with bedding is available for an extra person.

The complete kitchen with dishwasher, range, microwave, and all the cookware is open to the dining area and living room. The dining room table will seat six, or head on out to the deck and e enjoy your meal while savoring the river view.

Relaxing will come easy on the Yellowstone Riverside deck. There you can hear the mighty river sweeping by, notice the sudden flip of a trout's tail, watch a bald eagle perched in the Cottonwood trees across the river, and see drift boats, kayaks, canoes, and rafts float by.

You will find a Hot Tub, comfortable patio set and gas barbecue grill along with a bench and hooks to hang your fishing waders. On the other side of the house, you will find a covered deck with a small table and chairs to enjoy your morning coffee while enjoying an unobstructed view of the gorgeous Absaroka Mountains.

In the vaulted living room, you will find cozy and comfortable furniture, a 40' flat screen television with satellite service DVD, a CD am/fm home theater system, and a gas-fired woodstove - everything you could need! Large windows offer spectacular views of the Yellowstone River, waterfowl, bald eagles, and the surrounding mountains.

Plan a trip into Yellowstone National Park, just a short drive South through Montana's Paradise Valley. With a little luck, you can hope to see deer, elk, bison, moose, and bears and other wildlife. Allow time to take a trip through the park to see Old faithful as well as the other amazing Geyser activity. Tour the hotspots of Yellowstone; which include: the Boiling River, the Grand Canyon, Old Faithful, the Petrified Tree, Norris Geyser Basin and Mammoth Hot Springs.

Chico Hot Springs, one of Montana's famous resorts, is just 10 minutes from the house; where you can enjoy anything from hamburgers at the grill to five star dinning -make sure to save time to enjoy a soak in the world famous healing hot springs of Chico. If you're up for some dancing plan to visit the Chico Saloon for live music on the weekends.

No smoking is allowed in the home. No pets are allowed on the property or in the home without prior written approval.

When winter sets in and snow falls on the nearby mountains, the Yellowstone River is fabulous to watch as ice chunks float by. Downhill skiers can head for the slopes at Bridger Bowl or Big Sky, while cross country skiers and snowmobilers can find fabulous trails in the mountains nearby or in Yellowstone Park. After a long day of winter play, the cozy gas fired woodstove at Yellowstone Lookout will be a welcome sight.

The magnificent North entrance to Yellowstone Park is a short drive to the South through Montana’s fabulous Paradise Valley. You’ll find that most of the Yellowstone Park roads are closed to normal vehicle traffic during the winter, from mid-December through mid-March. As such, it makes a winter visit an outstanding time to take a snow coach ride, cross country ski or snowmobile through the Park.

The only car-accessible Yellowstone Park entrance that remains open year-round is located at Mammoth (the North Entrance). That plowed road makes for a fun drive in the winter—you can explore the Tower Falls area, the Lamar Valley and Cooke City. You may even want to stop and ski on some of the many groomed cross-country ski trails which are located along this road. If you want to view wolves, check out the Lamar Valley in the winter. It is fairly common to view wolf packs from road turnouts using scopes or binoculars. In Mammoth you can rent snowmobiles, cross-country skis and snowshoes and take snow coaches that transport you to Old Faithful or take you on tours to other destinations.

In addition to soaking in the hot pools at Chico Hot Springs, another favorite winter activity is to experience the outdoor natural hot spring pools at Boiling River. You’ll find the Boiling River parking area about 3 miles inside the park from Gardiner. After parking, you’ll walk about a half mile along a path bordering the Gardiner River.

Eventually, you’ll see a place where a creek of hot geothermal water flows into the river (you’ll see lots of steam). Here you’ll see rocks piled up in the river to create natural pools where the hot water mingles with the cold river water to create comfortable places to soak and relax. It may be a little chilly when you get out, but it’s FUN and likely to be an experience that you’ll never forget.

About Ronda

We have lived in Bozeman, Montana (about 1 hour from the home) for over 25 years. We think you'll like the Paradise Valley and location right on the River. We sure do!

Ronda purchased this house in 2002

Why Ronda chose Paradise Valley

We bought this property and built this home in 2002. The home is situated right on the banks of the Yellowstone River. In fact, many people say it feels like the river runs right through the living room. The river and mountain views are fabulous and you might even enjoy the great fishing right from the property.

What makes this house unique

The home is loaded with all the comforts of home and the views from the riverside hot tub are amazing! The location offers a great sense of privacy while being situated in a small neighborhood of homes in the Paradise Valley. You'll find easy access to Yellowstone Park and the fun towns of Livingston and Bozeman, Montana. If you need to accommodate additional people, please contact us for options.

Better than expected!

This cabin was perfect. We used it as a base to travel to Yellowstone and the surrounding areas. It's very close to Yellowstone and you typically get to see quite a bit of wildlife on the way. The cabin was so well equipped all we needed was groceries for our stay. Couldn't have asked for anything more as we had everything we needed. We enjoyed every minute we spent here and it was very hard to leave to return home.

Every morning we got to watch a bald eagle fly from it's nest across the river. That was a real treat! I would most definitely rent this cabin again in the future....no hesitation. I will also recommend it to any friends or family that are considering traveling to this area.

Great Location, Home and Setting!

  • 5 of 5
We spent one week at this property (February 12 - 20, 2011). This house was even better than expected. The setting was beautiful. It overlooked the mountains on both sides and stood very close to the Yellowstone River. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. The home was very clean and comfortably furnished. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of our "stuff" to store wiihtout tripping over it all the time. The kitchen had everything needed even down to salt, pepper, paper towels, etc.

We also loved the hottub. It was very relaxing after a day of exploring.

Our adventure incuded dogsledding with Absaroka which was a blast. We would highly recommend this to anyone. We split our visit with a 2 night trip to the Snow Lodge at Old Faithful. This is also very highly recommended. The house is only about 45 minutes from the North/Gardiner entrance of Yellowstone. We saw lots of wildlife on the way (which is one of the reasons it takes about 45 minutes to get there due to being cautious when driving to look out for deer and elk crossing the road).

The town of Livingston had a nice Albertson's for any grocery needs. We ate at the Rib and Chop House in Livingston. FANTASTIC food!!!! Don't miss it. I had some of the best seafood I've ever had in Livingston, MT...go figure!

You won't be disappointed with this home or it's location!!

We loved our April visit. The home is fabulous and the views of the Yellowstone River and surrounding mountains are fantastic! We had 2 glorious days in Yellowstone (it's an easy drive from the house). While in the Park we saw lots of wildlife! After long days of seeing Yellowstone, we loved coming home to 'our' cozy home and the hot tub on the river.

We had 3 wonderful days at Yellowstone Lookout North. The home was well equipped, tastefully decorated and so peaceful. We enjoyed the magnificent views, snow capped mountains, soaring eagles and the Yellowstone River. The fishing was ok too, for late March. It's a great place to relax, so comfy. The hot tub is an added bonus, as well as, the Wi-Fi, since we did not have cell phone service, my husband could still check in with work when needed. A truly great place to enjoy Montana!

Owner's Response: Some cell service providers work in this area and others do not. I know that Verizon and Qwest (to name two) work perfectly at the home.
