Ideal family holiday bolthole

We (me, husband, 2 teenage girls) have just come back from a lovely week in this apartment.
It is in a quiet location yet less than half an hour from Lisbon airport by car. We walked to the village for breakfast most days - an interesting 5 minute stroll past the local marble-polishing enterprise - where there is also a bank, chemist, tiny minimart, and butcher.
Not that we cooked for ourselves - plenty of restaurants a 10 minute drive away on the beaches where we spent most of our time, particularly Cascais. There was a lot going on there - pedaloes, canoes, as well as lots of beach vendors selling the usual holiday stuff, all of which the girls loved; husband preferred the Americas Cup racing taking place in the bay. He and I watched the action while having lunch on the sunny terraces of either the Albatroz Hotel or the Capricciosa restaurant, both of which are highly recommended - food good and friendly, helpful staff.
As well as beaches, the beautiful town of Sintra is accessible by rail from Estoril (10 minute drive), as is Lisbon - a pretty coastal journey. For the more active, surfing is available on windswept but lovely Guincho beach, and shoppers have plenty to look at in Cascais (again - ideal for teenagers).
The property itself was clean and well-kept and we swam in the serious-looking pool every day. The meet and greet service worked well, and the owner was most helpful and accommodating.
