I'm not one to write online reviews so this I've been contemplating for a while. I have enjoyed our stays so much that I feel compelled to share. My first experience with HomeAway was in 2012 when I found this beautiful house and it's owner, Dean. Both are wonderful. Maybe it's because I'm a creature of habit but we're now planning our third consecutive summer/family vacation here and it's already begun to feel like home. Out of necessity, for our first trip, I had to find a large space that would suit our blended family which included children with friends, ages 14+, as well as my mother (she'd kill me to say). The layout, with its 4 floors of living area, couldn't have been better. We all had privacy when we wanted and gathering spots with truly spectacular views in which to be together. The top floor dining room and kitchen have 360 degree views of bay and ocean. The rooftop deck, from coffee to cocktails, is outstanding. I can describe the impact by saying that on day one, when we walked to the top floor, I was hugged by two 14 year old boys to thank me for this incredible find.
Remove the unbelievable views and you're left with a beautiful house; eclectic in decor and design, comfortable spacious rooms (with more views) and fully equipped for a week or more. Yet, what makes this house even better is working with Dean . He is a delight. From our very first contact he has been responsive, respectful, accommodating and fun. When we recently decided to travel to Provincetown with 4 friends (next month, I can't wait) I took a chance and wrote Dean. Within 3 days our vacation was booked. His accessibility has made communication, and the entire process from start to finish, enjoyable and easy.
If you want to be right downtown, reconsider. The walk from this far end of Commercial Street is perfect for house peeping and great for working off vacation treats. Of course you can always grab the shuttle right at the end of the road if you're feeling less ambitious. I've been coming to Provincetown since I was a kid and have stayed in many condos, inns and homes. This is, by far, my favorite.
