We invite you to come and stay at Asheville's only 'COZY BEAR COTTAGE' - A Beary Nice Place
Our 'Cozy Bear Cottage' will provide you with a very comfortable and serene place to stay during your visit to Asheville and the surrounding area. Our cottage is located in East Asheville and it is only a ten-minute drive to downtown Asheville. You will have easy and quick access to I-40, I-240, and I-26 which provides the ability to quickly get to places such as the Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Grove Park Inn, as well as music venues, restaurants and shops in downtown Asheville. The cottage is located on a well-maintained private road in a very quiet and safe setting. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is 2.5 miles away and from there it’s a short drive to either Mount Pisgah to the south or Mount Mitchell to the north. (check out the Folk Art Center just as you get onto the Blue Ridge Parkway) Drive to Chimney Rock and take in the tremendous views from on top and then go to Lake Lure and enjoy a very nice guided-tour on a pontoon boat. Check out Navitat Canopy Adventures in Barnardsville, NC to experience a unique and fantastic zip lining experience (zip and walk through the treetops in the day or night time).
The cottage has three roomy bedrooms, two full baths, a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with a 37” HDTV, large and wide wrap around deck, premium hot tub with built-in sound system, fire pit, and a newly install six foot wooden fence along the side and rear of property. Please refer to the photos that have been provided to give you more details about the cottage as well.
Our family has found that traveling to Asheville will provide you with an almost overwhelming amount of things to do and see. In addition to the places mentioned above our cottage is just minutes away from first class golfing, art museums, various hiking and biking trails, white water rafting in the French Broad River in the spring and summer months and in the winter months go snow skiing and snowboarding at either Cataloochee Ski Resort in Maggie Valley, NC or Wolf Ridge Ski Resort in Mars Hill, NC. Lake James is close by for your enjoyment as well.
Downtown Asheville is a great place to spend some time and you will experience wonderful dining, music, and shopping. Some of our favorite places to eat are Sunny Point, Early Girl Eatery, Over Easy Café, French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Laughing Seed, Tupelo Honey, Bouchon French Bistro, Vinnie's Italian Restaurant, Heiwa Shokudo Japanese Restaurant, Olive or Twist, and many, many other fine restaurants. Enjoy a fun night out for a wide variety of music playing at the Orange Peel or Civic Center. Usually on Friday nights there will be a drum circle gathering that just happens along with numerous performances on the street corners. Another interesting place is the Sky Bar where you can view the surrounding city and mountains and watch a beautiful sunset from a unique outside venue. In the spring and summer enjoy a baseball game at the historic McCormick Field. There are also numerous seasonal festivals to attend. From the large to small shops in the downtown area all are very unique and and provide an almost endless array of selections. Fun and memorable times can be had by all and your days and nights will seem to pass quickly so please plan your mountain adventure carefully so you can take advantage of all that Asheville and the surrounding area have to offer.
We sincerely hope that you will come and enjoy a trip to Asheville and make our 'Cozy Bear Cottage' a relaxing and comfortable part of it all. Just send us an email inquiry or give us a call at 352-538-5645 and we will be glad to assist you.
We are originally from North Carolina and for the past seventeen years have enjoyed living and raising our children in North Central Florida. Traveling to the North Carolina mountains and especially the Asheville area has always been an enjoyable and adventuresome experience. The beauty, serenity, and peacefulness of the area is the alluring factor. There just seems to always be something new and interesting to see and experience because of the seasonal changes in the climate. Chefs from all over the world have opened resturants in Asheville and have produced an extraordinary variety of excellent dining options for us to enjoy as well. We have two dogs (Husky and American Eskimo) that enjoy our trips to the mountains as well to hike and enjoy the wonderful mountain weather. We like calling Carolina home and so might you.

Asheville, NC has been called the 'Paris of the South' and is an interesting place to visit to experience a wide variety of cusines, music, shopping, hiking, biking and just to enjoy the mountain life.
We just got home from our great vacation at Cozy Bear Cottage! This cottage had all the amenities needed. It even had paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags and plenty of towels which was a definite plus with teenagers! The hot tub was the hit, however. After a busy day we couldn't wait to get back to the hot tub. I had a question about the cabin while we were there and Tony quickly responded. Wish we could have stayed longer!!
We had a fabulous stay! The cottage is warm and cozy; you will feel at home immediately. It’s very clean, cute and comfortable! Everything you need is there. A well equipped kitchen, three lovely spacious bedrooms, and two nice bathrooms. The location was perfect; we were able to have a fun packed week in Ashville. Thank you again for a lovely stay. We hope to come back in August.
Truly enjoyed everything about the cottage! It was cozy, warm, comfortable, the beds slept great, enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit on chilly evenings. Every supply imaginable was their. In house laundry convenient as well. Nice split plan with good sized rooms and sleeping accommodations. Great neighborhood. Walked to almost top of hill, that was a thigh burner! But we had to burn calories being so close to all the good food and drink in Asheville! Blue Ridge Pkwy with several nice day hikes a couple miles down the road. Check out the whole foods tap haus which has some excellent food and growlers with local offerings like Catawba's peanut butter jelly! yum! We were maybe 10 min by car to downtown Asheville, about 45 min to Chimney Rock, but a beautiful drive. And a few days we just stayed home, opened up the doors and multiple sliders and just enjoyed the cool breezes flowing throughout the house! Don't miss Biscuithead in West Asheville for breakfast. Don't let the line scare you, it is worth it. French Broad Chocolates, Tupelo Honey Cafe, Doc Chuey's are also excellent choices! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home!!
The Cozy Bear Cottage is the perfect place to have a family vacation or a bachlorette weekend! We "beary" much enjoyed our stay with plenty of room to sleep all our friends. We cooked two nights and had a great weekend using the hot tub and hanging out in the house. Everything was very clean and we were about 10 mins away from downtown Asheville. It was very convenient. Thanks so much to Tony and Rose for everything. They were very accomadating and helped very much to any questions we had prior to getting there.
What a "beary" cute place to stay for a large party of 9. The cabin was clean and everything was exactly as described. We enjoyed being fairly close to downtown that we could just grab a cab.
When I arrived with my family the house was even more beautiful than the pictures. The inside was spotlessly clean and has a very cozy and cabin like theme. The beds were beyond comfortable, way more than any hotel or even other vacation rental property I've stayed in. They allowed for a very restful sleep. The kitchen was fully stocked, which made it easy and fun to cook a couple meals there to save some money. The location was fabulous, just far enough outside town to be away from the city lights and noise but close enough to get anywhere you needed to go within ten minutes. It was easy to find too. The entrance road was not steep and easy to access, even in the couple inches of snow and ice. Overall I would definitely recommend this house to others, my friends and family. And I will definitely stay here again. Make sure to dine at the Lobster Trap when in town, it is an amazing place for an intimate dinner in a semi casual\comfortable environment. The Dripolater coffee shop and Dobra tea house are a must go, as well as the French broad chocolate lounge. The hiking trails at warren Wilson college are also extensive and amazing and only a short 5 minute drive from the house. It was perfect for our dogs. I was very pleased. We didn't get in the hot tub or use the fire pit because of the frigid temperture but I would love to come back in the spring or summer to enjoy those.
Close to major highways (I-40, I-240, & I-26), however feels rual in a beautiful mountain setting, does not require long difficult driving and is on a private paved road. Close to grocery stores and can drive to downtown Asheville in ten minutes and the town of Black Mountain in fifteen minutes. There are lots of wonderful local food resturants and shopping.in both towns. Close to area hiking and short drive away is Wolf Laurel ski resort, white water rafting and zip lining at Navitat Canopy Adventures.
