The area has something to offer to both young travelers as well as for families with older kids (teens or college/post grad students).
There is something for everybody in this area that is one of the most historical yet international parts of Tokyo.
The unit is comfortable and well lit during the day while its dark and quiet at night. I hope you'll find this unit more modern and properly air conditioned for the hot summer months.

Wishing you happy and safe travels!
My brother and I lived a full week in this apartment and we are so glad we did. In advance, we didnt know just how central to all of the sites of Tokyo (which are largely in or near this area, Minato) we would be. It never took more than a simple train ride to get anywhere on our vacation.
The neighborhood around the property is upscale and cozy with a litany of exciting places to visit. The apartment itself accomplishes two things at once - the full comforts of your own apartment in Tokyo PLUS an authentically Japanese lodging with the amazing efficiencies of Japanese living and, our favorite, an excellent soaking tub.
Best of all, our hosts were able to provide an invaluable amount of help, communication and courtesy that made our trip in Japan what it was. We can say we even toured around a handful of Mami's properties and recommend every single one of them strongly
My family and I just stayed in Brian and Mami's place and we really have nothing but good things to say at all. They were very accommodating and the place was great as the kids were able to stay in the bottom floor and my wife and I upstairs.
The location has many great restaurants and stores nearby. My kids liked watching the car elevator in the garage of the building. Overall, we will definitely come back again to Tokyo and we'd stay in one of Brian and Mami's places for sure.
I hope you'll find the area as one of the most international yet traditional parts of central Tokyo. Just as the neighborhood around you is a mixture of new and traditional Japan, you'll find the duplex to be a luxurious, quiet getaway from all the hustle and bustle of Tokyo around you.
This unit offers a unique, giant love bath tub (please see photos) which is rare to find in Tokyo (aside from in Love Hotels). Whether it's a romantic getaway or long term stay that you seek, thank you in advance for considering this unit.
Please be prepared to also get out and explore all the great things that Tokyo and this neighborhood has to offer!
You will be minutes walking distance away from traditional boutique shops, restaurants, bars, and some of the newest shopping malls.
If you enjoy being in the center of it all during your stay, you will find this unit particularly attractive especially during the peak seasons.
For example, in the Winter / Fall, you can enjoy the year-end illumination of Roppongi Hills (until late-February, plan to see it again at year-end).
In the Spring / Summer, you can enjoy some of the most beautiful cherry blossom spots (this month it is full blossom now!), again just walking distance away. In the summer, you will be in the center of one of the largest street festivals - the Juban Matsuri - (August-end) as over 20,000 people gather in the streets. The event can be compared to Maudi Grau in the US or Festival in Brazil but ends considerably early (so you can continue to enjoy peaceful night rests or continue to party until the early morning just stumbling distance away from Roppongi street).
Both Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Midtown offer shopping, late night dining, jazz bars, and traditional Japanese gardens for jogs / photo opps. There are also new play grounds and jungle gyms for your kids. You should find the area is kid / family-friendly and a little more spaceous to allow your kids to run around, safely (although I cannot recommend this unit as kid-friendly; stairs and many .edges could bump head - ouch!)
If you prefer more classic / traditional experiences, the main shopping strip has many places to choose from... including Japanese sake and sho chu with rare selections, traditional noodle soba shops as well as other homemade traditional dishes including oden, yakitori, and Japanese sweets.
If you prefer a mix of international cuisine, you also have a wide variety of options including French, Italian, Chinese and American style BBQ restaurants (all reasonably priced).
And if the you tire of city life, to get in & out of Tokyo, there are two stations within walking distance (Hibiya line (to Tsukiji Fishmarket and Ginza Kabuki / Shopping area), Oedo line (to Shinjuku and Tokyo - Narita airport station), and Nanboku line (to Shinagawa - Narita or Haneda Airport).
Please be my guest and only if you do not mind, please tell me a little about yourself and your trip plans. It helps to know something about you and why you are traveling to Japan. I enjoy it most when I can help family and friends reunite in this great, vibrant and resilient city! or its a dream vacation that you've been planning and saving up for years...as it is the peak of sakura (cherry blossom) season this month!
And I love meeting interesting people from around the world. I want to share our home with you so please consider our place your place, your home away from home.
I promise I will do more than others to accommodate for your stay and try to fulfill any special requests before your arrival and to try and make your stay - short visit or longer term - very special. Also, please rest assured if it's your first time to visit family or friends, returning after several years, or here on business or pleasure, that you will have a local, support staff to assist you 24/7.
If you have any specific inquiries, please feel free to contact me directly (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese - toutes mes excuses je suis encore aux études Françaises).
