We all love Tokyo! And I love meeting interesting people from around the world. I want to share our home with you so please consider our place your place, your home away from home.
Please be my guest and only if you do not mind, please tell me a little about yourself and your trip plans. It helps to know something about you and why you are traveling to Japan. I enjoy it most when I can help family and friends reunite in this great, vibrant and resilient city! or its a dream vacation that you've been planning and saving up for years...as summer fireworks and street festival season is just around the corner! (Sorry the Juban matsuri last weekend in Aug is already booked!).
In most cases I am happy to meet your budget so if the price is somewhat out of your budget I make special exceptions whenever possible as I care less of making a huge profit and more about the purpose of your visit and the quality of your stay. I promise I will do more than others to accommodate for your stay and try to fulfill any special requests before your arrival and to try and make your stay - short visit or longer term - very special. Also, please rest assured if it's your first time to visit family or friends, returning after several years, or here on business or pleasure, that you will have a local, support staff to assist you 24/7.
I hope you'll find the area as one of the most international yet traditional parts of central Tokyo. Just as the neighborhood around you is a mixture of new and traditional Japan, you'll find the room also a nice, cozy balance of western carpet and traditional Japanese style tatami mats. There's a spectacular view of the city from the corner bay window and the morning sunrise reminds me of day break in Manhattan; another favorite city that never sleeps. And if you try hard you can even see the tip of the Tokyo Tower from one of the verandas (obviously not a selling point)! It's a rare and unique mix of new and old inside and out. So please get out and be ready to explore all the great things that Tokyo has to offer!
You will be minutes walking distance away from traditional boutique shops, restaurants, bars, and some of the newest shopping malls; Roppongi Hills (viewable from veranda) and Tokyo Midtown (not viewable from unit).
If you enjoy being in the center of it all during your stay, you will find this unit particularly attractive especially during the peak seasons.
For example, in the Spring / Summer, you can enjoy some of the most beautiful cherry blossom spots (just ended!), again just walking distance away. In the summer, the unit will place you above the Juban Matsuri (August - sorry already booked!) as over 20,000 people gather in the streets. The event can be compared to Maudi Grau in the US or Festival in Brazil but ends considerably early (so you can continue to enjoy peaceful night rests or continue to party until the early morning just stumbling distance away from Roppongi street).
In the Winter / Fall, you can enjoy the year-end illumination of Roppongi Hills (until late-February).
Both Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Midtown offer shopping, late night dining, jazz bars, and traditional Japanese gardens for jogs / photo opps. There are also new play grounds and jungle gyms for your kids. You should find the area is kid / family-friendly and a little more spaceous to allow your kids to run around, safely.
If you prefer more classic / traditional experiences, the main shopping strip has many places to choose from... including Japanese sake and sho chu with rare selections, traditional noodle soba shops as well as other homemade traditional dishes including oden, yakitori, and Japanese sweets.
If you prefer a mix of international cuisine, you also have a wide variety of options including French, Italian, Chinese and American style BBQ restaurants (all reasonably priced).
And if the you tire of the hustle and bustle of city life, to get in & out of Tokyo, there are two stations within walking distance (Hibiya line (to Tsukiji Fishmarket and Ginza Kabuki / Shopping area), Oedo line (to Shinjuku and Tokyo - Narita airport station), and Nanboku line (to Shinagawa - Narita or Haneda Airport).
If you have any specific inquiries, please feel free to contact me directly (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese - toutes mes excuses je suis encore aux Ʃtudes FranƧaises).
