Thank you for looking into staying in our condo in Destin, Florida. Many of our customers ask if the unit is “on the beach”. The unit is in a newer building that is part of the Pelican Beach Resort and the entire complex is ocean front. That means that as long as you are on the property, you do not need to cross any street to get to the beach. This is especially important if you have small children. You can see the beach from the unit and we have a beautiful Gulf of Mexico view as well as a vista that takes in the Destin Harbor. In the morning, we enjoy watching the fishing fleet as they stop to the southwest and catch the day’s bait. If you want to spend some time on the beach, it is a short stroll to the boardwalk that takes me about three minutes from the bottom of the elevator to walk. We have had no negative comments on the location of the unit relative to the water from our tenants; however we do not represent it as being surfside. Our view is much more dramatic than just looking out at the Gulf especially at night when there is absolutely nothing to see surfside after the sun is gone. The building was designed to be both appealing to the eye and functional and convenient for the visitors. In the winter and spring the sun is on the balcony all afternoon and early evening. In the summer, it gives you a break from the late afternoon heat as it proceeds high overhead and is shaded by the balcony. We know you will enjoy the view no matter if it is breakfast in the morning or a nightcap before bed. There is always something to look at, and the same view is available from the master bedroom, yes, even if you are still in bed. Quite a way to wake up!

Pelican Beach is located directly across from the Big Kahuna Water Park on the beach side of Hwy 98. This is a beautiful two bedroom two bath condo in the heart of Destin. It has great balcony views of the beach and the nearby Destin Harbor. That's where the famous fishing fleet is based and in fact, one of our favorite things to do after a relaxing day on the beach is to visit the docks just as the fishing boats come in with the days catch. Just one of the many fun things to do in the area. The Pelican Beach is a self contained resort in itself with tennis courts, three pools, snack bar/restaurant and conference center, just to mention some of the amenities. Grocery’s, restaurants and shopping are all within walking distance and that is a great feature of this location. We didn't forget the beach but everyone knows they are the best in the country and no walking across busy streets to get to the beautiful beach!
There is shopping at the nearby outlet mall if you're into that. Air Force Museums that are free if you want a break from the sun and there is golf right down the road less than a mile. Restaurants abound in the area and offer fresh seafood and an abundance of other cuisines, all just a short drive away.
