OASIS- HEMISPHERE DREAMER - INCREDIBLE OCEAN VIEWS AND BREEZES

This review will not be as long as the last one- I think the fact that this is my second time to stay here since September, speaks for itself. Once again- its a perfect location. Its right in the middle of the island- not right on Seawall blvd, but one street behind it. You can see the ocean from the porch, and the Pleasure Pier is literally a 5 minute walk from the front door. You can watch the rides from your front windows. The bedroom photo should be updated- there is actually a very large beautiful headboard above the bed now. Anytime I'm down on the island- this will be my first place to check availability. FYI-Anyone who loves bakeries- should check out a place on 14th street called Patty Cakes- great for pastries and desserts! Thank you again Karen for letting us stay here.

Nice cozy apartment. Clean and well-prepared. We like older houses like this - ours was built in 1930. Caretaker was very friendly and helpful. Property manager also willingly accommodated a couple special requests.

This place was great! I booked the house for a weekend with my MIL-girl trip!
We got on the island at about 9:00pm-when we drove up 25th street- about halfway there we saw the lights from the Pleasure Pier- I was so excited to see how close our house was to all the excitement!
The apartment we stayed in was the door on the right of the open door(there are two doors on the porch for seperate apartments). You don't have to worry about losing keys- as there is a keypad that you punch a code into which I loved. Nothing worse on vacation then when you think you have lost your vacay keys.
The apartment is shaped like a rectangle- first part is the small living room with a fold out futon and sitting chair with ottoman. Through a doorway from the living room is the bedroom- very clean and comfortable, past the bedroom is the bathroom (also very nice and clean), and past the bathroom is the kitchenette that has a fridge/freezer, microwave and stove. Plenty/silverware, storage and even a bottle of wine and chocolates :)
The house was cooled by window units- which worked very well. It was in the high 80's with cloudless skies- so pretty warm/humid outside, but inside was very comfortable and at night I certainly had to cover up with my blankets!
I loved the old time feel of the wood floors and what looks to be some original fixtures. This place wouldn't be considered fancy- but for my simplistic taste- it was amazing- not to ornate, but just enough decoration and just over all old antique style. Our living room faced the ocean and you could even see some of the taller lit up rides at night and the ocean- very cool I thought!
The Pleasure Pier is literally a 5 min stroll across a parking lot in front of the house and across the Seawall- you couldn't ask for a better location. I bought the all day pass for the PP- I was able to get on and off the pier as I pleased. We left for dinner at Saltgrass down the road- which was delicious! After dinner- I walked back on the PP, rode rides/took pictures until it closed and walked back to our rental.
Parking was not an issue-we were able to park in front of our house almost the whole time. There were lots of parking from patrons visiting the PP and one time we had to park the car in front of the house next to us instead of in front of our place-no big deal though.
Bottom line- this was a great place to stay- especially considering the cost in comparisson to the other places on the island.
