We live in Knoxville, 45 minutes away and make frequent trips to enjoy the cabin and insure maintenance and cleaning are up to standard.
The Owner purchased this chalet in 2002
As natives of East Tennessee, our family has made countless trips to the Smokies, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge over the years. When we were finally in a position to purchase an investment property that we would also hopefully be able to use occassionally, the choice was easy. There's something for everyone, and with a full four seasons the scenery is everchanging and always beautiful.
Although we are only 45 minutes away, taking the day trip aspect out of the picture and staying overnight is so much more relaxing, and always an adventure with our kids. The downstairs living area promotes family gathering and we always enjoy the center fireplace and large kitchen table. We've also found the location makes for a great way to have reunions with old friends now living out of town. The central location of the cabin is ideal, and we are literally minutes away from all the area has to offer.
Our family of 16 stayed here from October 17-20. For our annual family reunion. We all fell in love with this wonderful place. We ranged in age from 8 to 78 and everyone loved the place and the convience to sights and things to do within the area . Kitchen is well stocked and easy to get around. The living area was great size and had an easy flow for a crowd. bedrooms were so comfy! The washer and dryer was very convienent also. Although the dryer door / button sticks ? But was still so nice. We enjoyed the outside also, hot tub was great and we had a black bear that walked down the driveway and visited us twice on the bottom porch. There were also wild turkeys the kids took delight in ! Our family loves your beautiful place and we will be contacting you again to book for next year :) thanks again for a wonderful stay!
My children and I just return back from gatlinburg after a stay in this wonderful chalet. It was very nice, clean and lots of space the pictures do not do it justice.
Kids enjoy the hot tub, pool table and pool.Everyone had there own room and that is always a plus no fighting over bathroom because it has 5.Michael Wild was so nice to help me with any question I had,the only down side is that we couldn't stay longer.
So thank you once again Michael Wild for a wonderful place to stay for a family vacation,
This cabin sleeps so many people, rooms are small, but beds are comfy& love that the sheets are already on the beds upon arrival. Plenty of bathrooms & the kitchen is fully stocked. We cooked several meals. We had a pipe leak during our stay, &the owner answered his phone LATE at night & came to fix the problem quickly& compensated us. He really took care of us&CARES. We will for sure come back!! The property & furniture are dated, but CLEAN & kept up.The price was amazing comparatively... and our family had an excellent time together. THANK YOU!!!!!!
The cabin was just what we needed for our group of 15! It was very well stocked and had everything we needed. It was not fancy but perfect for us, the pool table and phoosh ball table were a hit. New Years Eve we walked just up the hill and watched all the fireworks in Gatlinburg. The driveway is steep, but we had plenty of parking for our two 15 passenger vans with a little creative driving. I would stay here again and Mike the owner was the nicest and most prompt owner Ive ever worked with!
We rented this chalet from Mike as a gathering spot for a family oriented group of friends who share the love of riding the mountain roads. I asked if there was enough parking for several vehicles and if the drive was black top (or relied on the pictures)... and when we arrived I thought nothing of going down the hill...but some other riders were a bit intimidated... ha... buck up I say! We had no issues maneuvering in and out with the 9 bikes and one truck or with parking so all was good. We entered the chalet and was pleasantly surprised with the spaciousness and cleanliness and found all we needed for our stay of 11 people (three couples) remainder singles. Since we had rain on and off this worked out so much better than our other visits to Gatlinburg where we relied on the local motels. We were all able to hang out and socialize. The photos do not do the place justice at all in my opinion. It is an older structure and some things are dated (hey but so are we), the place is definitely very well cared for and clean. If you want a clean, spacious, comfortable place at a value look no futher, if you are looking for the latest and greatest of everything...maybe this is not the place for you. I am saying that based on some of the reviews not my personal experience. We would stay again in a heartbeat. We read our warning about the bears in the area and made sure none of the bikes had any food in the bags (I suggest you heed this warning). While hanging out Sunday morning, three bears (two cubs and a mama) paid us a visit. It was the highlight of our visit they walked right down the drive within ten feet of us while we all photographed them, they checked out the one truck we had with us then made their way up to the cabin behind us where they lucked out and found a maintenance truck that had just emptied the trash from that cabin into the bed of the truck, they stayed for a short meal and moved on without issue. They were well aware we were there but paid us little attention. It was thrilling. The chalet has seven rooms upstairs and one downstairs, several shared bathrooms, and a private one in one of the rooms. The downstairs provides plenty of space for socializing and relaxing and the place has all you need. Mike provided us a layout before we arrived and we had the rooms predetermined. Mike is very punctual with answers to questions, easy to deal with and very friendly. If you want to enjoy Gatlinburg...this is the place to reserve!
We just got back from taking a bunch of teens to Gatlinburg for a conference. We found this chalet and it was perfect for us. Chalet had everything we needed, dishes, utensils, fire wood etc.….. The teens had a great time playing pool, playing foosball and sitting around the fire. We had plenty of room and really enjoyed the large table to have our meals around. The chalet is very close to Ober Gatlinburg. We actually just bought tickets to ride the aerial tram and missed all the traffic in town. We were able to ride the tram all we wanted for two days. Owner was a pleasure to work with and was very helpful.
