What makes Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina so special? It is located directly on one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. The water must be 15 shades of blue! You are literally right on the sand, and you can see the beautiful blue water from all places in the condo, even in the bed! Some of the other places we have stayed did not have as nice a beach, did not have the great breezes, or did not have good snorkeling. We have it all here! It is located close to the Red Hook ferry, so it is easy to get to St John or the British Virgin Islands. We are close to some great restaurants and grocery stores at Red Hook. Walk to the marina on site and take a day sail to St John or a powerboat trip to the British Virgin Islands, or rent jet skis

Enjoy tropical drinks and a burger or mahi sandwich at the Banana Cabana located on the beach, open during the day for lunch and snacks. The full kitchen allows us to buy groceries and eat breakfast and some other meals in the room, saving time and money. The dive shop on site rents snorkeling equipment and kayaks. The views of St John and the British Virgin Islands are world class. We have stayed in many resorts and villas throughout the US and British Virgin Islands, and we kept coming back to Sapphire Beach Resort. If you want a full-service resort with several restaurants, this is not the place for you. If you want to have an incredible view right on a world-famous beach, this is it!

What makes this unit so wonderful? We just purchased this condo in Spring 2012, and we completely renovated it! The bathroom has been completely renovated and has a new tile shower, new tile floor, new cabinets and granite countertops. New HEAVENLY King Mattress and box springs, new high thread-count linens, new queen sleeper sofa, new patio furniture, fresh paint and new light fixtures! New dinnerware and accessories! New appliances and kitchenware. Sapphire Beach Resort has 5 Buildings that are on the beach--A,B,C,D and E. My husband and I have stayed in almost every building, and the thing we love about the E building is that it offers spectacular views of the crystal blue water as well as direct views of St John and the British Virgin Islands. It is also more private than some of the other buildings, as several of the buildings are on the busier 'main' beach. Here, you can enjoy the activities on the main beach and then come back to the privacy of your condo when you are ready to chill. One of my favorite things about being in the E building is watching the twinkling lights on St John at night...absolutely magical!

We love to snorkel, and some of our favorite snorkeling is right outside the door! We regularly see turtles and rays in the grass bed in the middle of Sapphire Beach, and the reef on both sides and around the point between the C and D building...Prettyklip Point...is beautiful! It is quite a show of purple fans, yellow elkhorn and other coral, and lots of beautiful fish! I have even seen a spotted eagle ray here! We can give you some great recommendations for snorkeling spots on St John and in the BVIs as well.

There are many great restaurants throughout St Thomas and St John, and we have listed some of our favorites in our Information Book at the condo.

How to get here: We are located near Red Hook on the East End of St Thomas. From the airport, you can rent a car or take a taxi to Sapphire Beach. We prefer having a car so we can take the car ferry to St John. If you want to take a car to St John for the day, be sure to check with the rental car company...not all of them allow you to take the cars to St John.

Great choice!!

My husband, daughter and I just returned from our stay in Sea Glass and couldn't be more satisfied. Everything was just as described. Angela has great taste! The E bldg was fine for us...the chair attendants placed our chairs wherever we wanted on any given day. The whole beach is beautiful! We rented a car because we could see the taxi fares adding up since we do like to explore, but taxis were readily available. The amenities in the condo were great and much appreciated...the coolers and xtra beach chairs were great when we went to various beaches and St John. The location is perfect for taking any excursions as they all leave right from the marina, which is right at the end of our parking lot. After exploring a lot of the island, we would definitely stay here again. Phil and Angela were great hosts and we appreciated all the tips and info they have us beforehand.

Views!

My husband and I stayed here for our 30th birthday celebrations last month. The decorating is top notch and the views are unbelievable. I could just sit on that balcony all day. We also enjoyed laying by the pool and watching the boats go in and out of the marina and thru the channels. It was nice to have the blender- we mixed rum, ice, and mango/orange juice every night for a fun treat. :)

The location is a little difficult as we didn't rent a car and there were few food options nearby. This complex does not have any amenities or anything that a resort might have. It's pretty quiet and really only made for relaxing. At the entrance to the condo (at the top of a steep hill) there was a BBQ food truck- amazing food, highly recommend. At the condo itself, there were a couple girls under a tent selling some burgers, beers, etc. Senior Pizza delivered (which was actually really good!) Other than that, you needed to go into Redhook for food. We got groceries the first day (very pricey) and then got a taxi ride a few times to go out.

Highly recommend the dinner sail out of the marina. They took good care of us- food and drinks were yummy and plentiful.

The advice book in the condo indicated they were members of the surf shop that provided free snorkel equipment, but when I inquired about that, the surf shop guy said that ended over 1 year ago, and that we would have to purchase our rentals. I thought it would've been nice if the owners had a couple sets of snorkel gear for their guests to use.

There were no toiletries at all, so you have to bring all of those. (we didn't bring any soap!- oops) They completely emptied out the cupboards and fridge prior to our stay so there were no condiments or coffee or anything like that. The only reason I mention this is several of the VRBO places we have stayed tend to keep things like salt, pepper, condiments, leftover coffee, etc from the previous guests, so we don't each have to buy these brand new. No big deal though.

Paradise

Great communication, awesome location. The condo is off the main beach so you won't be bombarded with tons of crowds. There is also a marina right next to the condo for tours, so you can wake up and go. Taxis are always at the main office for you to hitch a ride into town. Wake up and go to sleep to the nice ocean sound. Enjoy the sunrise and sunset with views of St. John. What is not to love about this location!

Vacation perfection!

We visited St Thomas for my wife's 50th birthday. We picked Sea Glass as our home base for the week and couldn't be happier with the choice. The condo is very spacious for its size and the interior is cozy and charming. Everything was clean and well maintained. The "beachy" decor was perfect for the gorgeous oceanfront view.
We really enjoyed building E as it was away from the busy part of the beach. It felt very secluded and private. We are avid stand-up paddleboarders and rented boards for the week. We paddled at Sapphire Beach, Frenchman's Reef near the Marriott, Brewer's Beach and Hull Bay. Loved every minute!
We also snorkeled a lot at Sapphire. The reef is beautiful and there is a lot to see. Plenty of turtles and rays as well as reef tropicals.
Red Hook is just down the street with plenty of restaurants and bar options. We had a blast at Duffy's and Molly Malone's. We also went to Iggy's at Bolongo Bay about three times. Great food and beachfront vibe.
We spent a day on the Second Wind yacht charter and had an amazing day with Capt Wolfgang, Jeff and Nikki. Great food, drink and great options for places to swim, snorkel and dive. Highly recommend a day with them if you want to be spoiled on a 57' cruiser!
We also took the ferry over to St John for a day trip and really enjoyed it as well.
So much to explore and we feel we barely scratched the surface! We will definitely be back and Sea Glass will be our choice every time (Until we figure out how to move there and get our own place! LOL).
Phil and Angela are a great team and you will have a great experience renting this unit through them. Do not hesitate to book your dates right now!

Absolutely perfect place!

This was the perfect place for our family get together. We also rented unit 205 right next door which could be connected by opening up the patio doors. This made for a great set up. We definitely wanted Sapphire Beach but there were 6 of us and not many places that would accommodate all of us and we wanted to be close. A king bed and pull out couch in both places, and we had plenty of room. The views are amazing and loved being so close to the beach and pool. We have gone on many beach vacations and this is the perfect place if you like being close to the water. Great snorkeling. Close to Red Hook and good restaurants. Went to St John twice, we rented a car and took the ferry. We enjoyed having our own car so we could come and go as we wanted. It was nice having a car in St John. I cannot say enough about this place. It was clean, staff was friendly and we have absolutely no complaints. You cannot go wrong with renting this place. You will not be disappointed.

Phil and Angela were very easy to work with. Excellent communication (email, text and phone) from beginning to end. Recommendations for restaurants, beaches, shopping, excursions, rental car vs taxi very helpful and made stay stress free. Condo shows pride of ownership with quality furnishings and linens.
