Korcula Vacation Rental apartment: Lumbarda

We booked this apartment at the last minute and the owner could not have been more helpful with helping us to plan our trip. The crystal clears waters were excactly as she described and literally a stone's throw from the apartment. The views from the apartment are really beautiful.

The apartment had plenty of space for 2 people but perhaps might be more cramped with 4. It was perfectly clean and decorated tastefully with new modern furniture as can be seen from the pictures.

There is a nice restaurant within the complex and another called 'More' further round the port, which was fantastic and whre we had our best meal - try the shark and steak, they were delicious. There are more bars and restaurants in Korcula town which is a short drive or taxi ride away. There are organised boat trips you can take from the port. We hired our own boat for the day (which was easy to do and a reasonable price) and stopped off at some of the samll deserted islands nearby for snorkelling and a picnic.

A word of warning if you don't have kids - there were a lot of families with children staying at the complex so if you don't want woken in the morning by kids screaming at the pool or if you want to relax with a book at the pool or on the balcony then this maybe isn't the place for you. However there are lots of beautiful beaches nearby that you can escape to like we did or do some boat trips, visit Korcula town or Vela Luka, which is on the other side of the island and has lovely bars where you can sit and watch the sunset. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would definately recommend Korcula (making sure you fit in a few days in Dubrivnik which is is a must).
