We are located on the 'Gold Coast' of Costa Rica, in the province of Guanacaste, on the the Nicoya Peninsula, Pacific Coast.
The house is ON Playa Prieta, in the town of Potrero, in a gated community of 12 houses on 6 garden acres called Villas Estival.
Potrero is an authentic Costa Rican village in the midst of the region’s rustic ranch land; you might see cowboys herding their cattle past the town square’s soccer field. There are small restaurants, bars and groceries in the village.
Locally there are many activities including fishing, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, horseback riding, canopy tours, ATV adventures.
Playa Flamingo is a short 10 minute drive away, with restaurants, shops, nightlife, marina, cruising, deep sea fishing and resort activities. The beach town of Brasalito is another 5 minutes away with more nice restaurants and is a real Tico village. The Conchal Resort and golf course is near here.
Within 30 minutes is Tamarindo and Playa Grande, one of the surfing capitals of the world. There you can surf, take lessons, eat, shop, or just lie on the beach.
From the beach, it's a 1hour drive to the cities of Liberia or Santa Cruz, 11/2 hours to Buena Vista Lodge on Rincon de la Viejo volcano with white water rafting, hot mud baths, thermal springs and much more, 2 hours from the Nicaragua border, and 3 hours to Arenal Volcano, or to the Monteverde Rain Forest.
