Grand Mas with 5 bedrooms 3 bathrooms with separate studio pool

A beautiful old stone Provençal Mas des Baux surrounded by acres of flower garden with trees and a large heated pool. The entrance is secure and you bénéfissez private parking. The interior is fully furnished with taste and comfort. The living room is 80m2 with a library and a large central fireplace and view of the garden through a bay window. The modern and fully equipped kitchen overlooks the dining room with a large old stone fireplace. In summer you can dine outside in the fresh wind up overlooking the garden and pool. The rooms are upstairs and accessed by two different steps. The master bedroom has a bathroom en suite in soft stone and teak with shower and tub and toilet. There are two adjoining children's bedrooms, one of which has a mezzanine with a double bed and the other a double sleeper, two rooms still have a bed / extra sofa. These rooms have access to a bathroom with bath and shower and a separate toilet. Then there is a sequence of two bedrooms (one with 2 single beds and one with 1 double four-poster bed) and a large bathroom with bath and shower and toilet. At the west end of Mas there still an independent STUDIO with lounge / kitchen / dining room of 35m2, overlooking a mezzanine that serves as bedroom with double bed, wardrobe, dresser and couch. The lounge leads onto a terrace half covered to the west. This is totally private terrace overlooking another part of the garden. The pool has a pool house with hot shower, changing room, toilet and bar area. There are chairs and old iron beds for sunbathing or napping. The pool is heated if necessary and a treadmill for safety. For teens or adventurous we also have an old gypsy caravan in the garden under the sycamore or two people can sleep to the sounds of Provence nights. You get 6 hours of cleaning per week and included a gardener who maintains the exterior and the pool. If you want you can also be linked with a concierge service that will organize all your wants and needs: driver, cook, baby-sitting, shows and restaurants reservations, etc ...

The studio has a living room of 20m2 which leads into the kitchen / dining room of 15m2, lounge there is a wooden staircase leading to the sleeping area on the mezzanine of approximately 10 m2, there is a shower room and wc. From the lounge there is a door leading to the outside terrace of 20m2 half covered, it is completely private overlooking part of the garden. The walls are made of stone and plaster, floor tiles and wooden mezzanine.

We are a Franco-Dutch family that lives in the 'Mas du Tilleul' during the year with our 3 children and our dog and cats. Marc works in construction and renovated our house with care. Philippa artfully and lovingly furnished and decorated it.

Philippa Colomb de Daunant purchased this studio in 2003

The studio is located at one end of the farmhouse but is completely independent. It is perfect for a vacation rental because we are here to welcome and advise renters. The region always has a mild and sunny climate and the surroundings are perfect for lovely bicycle rides or walks in the Alpilles. It is a very important and culturally rich region; there are Roman remains all around as well as monuments from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Towns like Arles and Avignon have beautiful monuments and museums to visit. In the summer there are many cultural festivals nearby: The Avignon Theatre festival, the Rencontres International de la Photographie in Arles, and the Choregies d'Orange, to name a few.

Our farmhouse is one of the oldest in the area. It is situated in a 1 hectare garden, surrounded by plane trees and a hundred-year-old linden tree. For those who love Provence, it is a peaceful and classic area.

THE IDEAL BASE IN PROVENCE

This was the perfect place for us in a great location just a few minutes from St Remy. Everything we needed for our ten day stay was provided in this secluded, quiet haven. It was the ideal base to use while visiting the region. The studio was charming and well set up with a fully equipped kitchen that we used when we were not out in nearby St Remy which has the cafes and restaurants and the market in its medieval centre where you can shop or just sit back.
Friendly and charming hosts who were there if you asked but otherwise you are left to enjoy yourselves. Highly recommended.

SEHR SCHÖNE FERIENWOHNUNG IN RESTAURIERTEM HAUS.

Schon der Zugang über eine platanengesäumte Allee zu dem restaurierten typisch provencalischen Bauernhaus ist eindrucksvoll, Die Restaurierung hat den Charakter des Hauses bewahrt.
Die an einem Ende des Hauses gelegene Ferienwohnung, ihre geschmackolle und zweckmäßige Einrichtung, die Terasse und der zugehörige Gärtenteil haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Sie entsprachen der Beschreibung und den Fotos. Die Teppe zum Galeriegeschoss mit dem Schlafraum war nicht so steil wie befürchtet. Das Schwimmbecken mit Umkleidemöglichkeit ist sehr ansprechend, aber wir haben es leider wegen des Mistrals nicht genutzt. Die Ferienwohnung und die Gärten des Hauses sind sehr sauber und gepflegt.
Die Gastgeber wohnen mit ihren Kindern im Haus, Sie sind freundlich, hilfsbereit und geben zweckdienliche Hinweise.
Das Zentrum von St. Remy ist ca. 2 km entfernt, ein großer Intermarché und ein guter Obst-Gemüseladen befinden sich ca. 1,5 km auf de Weg zum Zentrum. St. Remy hat seinen Charakter, trotz inzwischen vieler mehr die Touristen ansprechender Geschäfte, erhalten können. Auf Empfehlung des Gastgebers haben wir das Restaurant "L'Aile ou la Cuisse" besucht und hervorragende 3 gängige Menus für 30 € bekommen.
Wir können die Ferienwohnung und Saint Remy uneingeschränkt empfehlen!!

A PEACEFUL WEEK IN PROVENCE

The mas (farmhouse), where this property is situated, is stunning. The studio apartment is really most spacious and well-equiped.

Our host, Mme Colomb de Daunant, spoke excellent English and was very welcoming and helpful.

We especially enjoyed the privacy of our own terrace, eating al fresco of an evening and relaxing with a glass (or several) of wine, while listening to the sound of the cicadas and watching the pipistrelle bats hunting in the twilight.

The Saint-Rémy location is perfect for visiting the splendours of Provence with the journey to such beautiful places as Arles, Roussillon, Gordes and Isle-sur-la-Sorgue all less than an hour away. The town itself has much charm with its narrow streets, buildings of character and bustling Wednesday market. We also found that the local Intermarché supermarket catered for our needs and was only 2KM from the mas.

We decided after just a day that we should not wear ourselves out by cramming in as much of Provence as we had researched. Mas de Tilleul was simply so enjoyable in itself that we only made excursions on three days and chilled at the property for most of the rest of the week.

We throughly recommend this property and look forward to returning in the future.
