Cloverdale Vacation Rental house: Northern Alexander Valley

Starling's Rest is located on a hillside overlooking the northern Alexander Valley area. In the summer, the bridge over the Russian River is open in Asti, making the drive from Healdsburg/Geyserville only 15 minutes. Nearby is the Russian River, wineries, restaurants, Lake Sonoma, Anderson Valley (famous for their apples, but now wineries,too!).

Our guests drive through a stone gate and just a few hundred feet up the hillside to Starling's Rest. A large front deck accents the front of the home. Enter into the living room which features tv, dvd, and beautiful sofas. The dining room is between the living room and kitchen, which is roomy for 8-10 guests. Next is the family room with large fireplace, sofas and chairs -- a really great gathering spot, just off the kitchen.

Through the kitchen our guests have a working island, lots of counter space, modern appliances. The inside laundry is off the kitchen, and exit to the back deck and hot tub is from the kitchen as well. Beautiful hillside and ridgetop views are had from the back deck and hot tub. In the late fall and winter months, thousands of starlings swirl and rest in the trees above. Deer, quail and rabbits also live near and visit the hillside. A 7 person hot tub, and quality outdoor furniture are provided. Guests will enjoy taking a soak and then drying off in comfortable cushy chairs and tables on the deck.

The vineyard views at the front of the home are best enjoyed in the morning, due to the west facing location, perfect for coffee, juice or continental breakfast. The stars are amazing here. Starling's Rest is in a pocket of little or no light pollution. The property owner provides you with a telescope for star gazing. Take a visual ride on the milky way and get lost in the country, even if it's just for a weekend.
