Cape Charles Classic is located in the Victorian town of Cape Charles on Virginia's Eastern Shore. The small community of 900 full time residents offers a quiet sand beach with easy parking, a free fishing pier, and a central park with play ground. Within the town limits are found two world class golf courses by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, numerous and interesting shops, an Irish pub in a restored bank building, a town harbor with fishing charters and jet ski rentals, an old fashioned drug store with a lunch counter and soda fountain. The Bay Creek Railway offers evening dining excursions in a restored 1913 self propelled train car as well as Saturday pizza runs. Available for rent are golf carts that are street legal, bikes and kayaks. Nearby charters can take small groups to the barrier islands and the pristine Atlantic Ocean beaches. Kayak tours are available with some offering lunch and a stop at one of the local wineries. Horseback riding is available less than two miles away.

Cape Charles is lovely

Cape Charles is a quiet town with a beautiful beach and shore drive. The downtown is sweet and small; things open late and close at 5PM. The golf courses are stunning and the new marina is very nice. The Food Lion grocery store is very good. The local pharmacy has very limited hours.

This house is across from a beer distribution center, so there is noise during the morning and business day. If you're getting up and going to the beach, this may be ok.

The house is a typical old house. But, it is bigger than it looks from the outside. It house, in general, was not very clean when we arrived. We washed everything upon arrival. While updated, the kitchen does not have a dishwasher. It does have a stacked washer/dryer, which is helpful. The rental agency was very responsive to our requests for pots and pans, etc.

I would definitely return to Cape Charles.

Quiet family getaway

Cape Charles is a wonderful quiet town for those looking for sun and sand and not much else. Coffee House and Kelly's Pub both have good food. Our rental was an old 2 story home with lots of updates and some still in progress. Good for 2 families sharing a home. When we arrived the home was not clean, many light bulbs were burnt out and none of the smoke detectors were working. Home has some minor maintenance issues but we made due and our stay was pleasant. Would rent this home again but would make sure with the rental agency that all things are up to par. For those who like to cook--no dishwasher and minimal dishes and utensils for preparing food. So glad I brought a few along for the trip. Thanks for a great vacation.
