Plenty of room needs larger pots, serving dishes
We had 12 people and everyone had a place to sleep; 2 each in the 5 bedrooms and 2 teen boys on the couch. Plenty of towels, plates, cups, glasses and silverware, but there were no large pans to cook a casserole or to serve a large salad for a group of 12 people. We went to Walmart and bought a 13 X 9 pan to cook a meatloaf and a large plastic bowl to make a salad. Another night, we had to cook 1/2 spaghetti, drain, then cook the other half, and cooked the sauce in two smaller pots. The A/C works good in morning, night or when it's cloudy, but can't keep the house cool in the afternoon. When we arrived it was raining and shortly thereafter the smoke alarms started going off. There was no smoke or fire, but a roof leak dripping water through the smoke alarm in the front bedroom downstairs next to the garage. The alarms are set to go off electrically and can't be turned off manually. We called the emergency number and got an answering machine. One of the guys with us flipped the breaker and it stopped...until 3:00AM when it woke everyone up. He came downstairs and flipped the breaker completely off, which left everyone upstairs with no electric, but at least the alarm went off. I left another message on the emergency number...this time it wasn't a nice message. I finally got a call back in the morning telling me someone would come & look at it. We went on to EPCOT for the day. I later called back to check on the repair and was told someone came by and turned the breaker back on, but disconnected the smoke alarms so it wouldn't continue to go off. After the rain stops, they would come back & fix the leak. At least 2 people were at the house everyday thereafter and no one ever came by to fix the leak. Also, the pool guy never showed up to clean the pool on Thursday even though we left the screen door unlocked. However, even though we had a couple problems, overall the house had plenty of room for all 12 of us. Also, the pool was enjoyed by our teens after they got home each evening from the parks.
Owner's Response: Thanks for your review, and really sorry on what had happened during your stay. Our property manager has also reported to us that the leak was caused by the heavy rain received from Tropical Storm Debby, which had triggered the smoke detector for that room only, but all the other smoke detectors remained in service. she said that the repair can not be completed under wet conditions as our handyman will have to go on the roof to find where the leak is coming from.
For the pool cleaning schedule, our pool guy can come very early to clean the pool. Sometimes they start as early as 6AM so guest may not see pool guy each time. We've asked our PM to double check if they came on that date or not.
In any case, we would like to say sorry for all the problems happened, and have informed our property management to improve their after-hour service.
Your suggestion for larger pots and serving dishes is noted, we'll have our PM to look after it.
By the way, here is a tip for the use of A/C: The A/C needs to be set on HOLD. If is set on TEMPORARY, the temperature will fluctuant at different temperatures.
Again, some extreme weather condition may happened and cause problems, although our Villa is only 6yrs new. It is always our goal to do what we can to make sure our guests have a pleasant stay in our villa, We are looking forward to having you stay with us again.
