My daughter an I stayed at Poulsen Point for 6 days and had the most spectacular time. The cottage was perfect and had everything you could want and more for a comfortable, relaxing escape. The cottage was clean, bright, spacious and a fresh plate of cookies with a welcome note greeted us. Todd and Lucia were extremely helpful in answering our e-mails and calls prior to our arrival to assist in making our vacation perfect.
This is the ideal place to be to visit many of the Olympic park and forest areas. We went to Hurricane ridge, our first time seeing mountains, it was spectacular and we were lucky enough to see a young black bear, grazing by the road. We also went to Sol Duc, the falls were lovely, Merrymere falls and the Hoh rain forest as well as Forks, La Push beach and Ruby beach.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Bella Italia and a movie at Deer park cinema just ouside Port Angeles. This area is extremely easy to navigate with really only one road to travel, and it's the most scenic road I have ever travelled.
If you want wildlife, it starts at the cottage with the resident eagle who we named Edward, he graciously posed for ou camera many times! Elk in the Hoh area, deer just about everywhere, otter also at the cottage.
If you like to rise early, you'll have no problem with the skylight over the bed!
In the evenings, we lit the pellet stove which warmed up the cool evenings and enjoyed a glass of wine and a movie, a perfect way to relax after a day of hiking and exploring.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful place, we will be back, one of these days and I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage.
