Off-site you can go bird- and turtle-watching, and beach combing. Additional activities include horseback riding. Every Friday from Memorial Day to Labor Day don’t miss Fireworks Over The Bay. Across the Queen Isabella Bridge in Port Isabel there are museums. Make sure you visit the Light House museum in the year old Port Isabel lighthouse. It is the smallest State Park in Texas. Port Isabel has many artsy little shops including antiques and art galleries. The Gladys Porter Zoo one of the top zoos in the country is
just a 30 minute drive to Brownsville.
In Laguna Vista, Golfers can check out the South Padre Island Golf Course.
