Three separate and distinct villas dot the Plantation House grounds which is now a tropical garden.
Each villa offers its own flavor of private, family-style living with open floorplans and full kitchens surrounded by a horticulturalist’s paradise – organic gardens, fruit trees, flowers, birds and even the plantation monkeys. The Barn sits beside the coral swimming pool. The View sits overlooking the Atlantic over the foreground of cane fields. The Cottage is nestled in the branches of banana and mango orchards. Your British host has transformed a former Zoo into a botanical haven complete with fruiting trees, organic gardens and flowering vegetation everywhere. Open floor plans offer a unique connection with the ocean breezes and the natural settings. Far from the madding crowd, you will find respite in a local charming culture and a quiet countryside pace. This is the Barbados that few get to see.
We cannot compliment Peter enough on his
beautiful place and his incredible hospitality. Our little hideaway was the cottage, which was very individual and cosy with two lovely shady verandas and a double open air shower.
The cottage is surrounded by lovely lush vegetation and overlooks the orchard one side and pool the other, and surrounded by wildlife - fireflies, humming birds, monkeys, lizards.
We were welcomed as friends to Peters house and joined him for supper under the fairy lit gazebo, a bonfire soirée with friends, many jamming sessions, and a great party with a bluegrass Boston band that was staying at the house.
You may think this might have been a noisy stay, but in fact the place also has an amazing peaceful atmosphere, and despite the busy few days, sound really didn't travel very far and peace and quiet could be found in so many places. The hammocks, the monkey shack in the orchard, the swing bed. The list is endless
