This charming house is within walking distance to a popular beach on Pleasant Bay and less than a 10-minute drive to the other five Chatham beaches. Chatham is situated mid-Cape and is an easy drive to the National Seashore Beaches in nearby Eastham. Truro and Provincetown are approximately 45 minute drive from Chatham. It is a good location for a golf vacation. Very convenient to the following public golf courses: Seaside Links; The Captains' Course, and Cranberry Valley Golf Course. Chatham is one of the most charming towns on Cape Cod. In 2007 Chatham was designated a “Distinctive Destination” by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. There is a good variety of shops and restaurants in the centre of Chatham. Cape Cod has a good baseball league; Chatham is home to one of the teams in the league, the “Chatham A’s”. There are generally two to three games played each week in Chatham. On Friday night, don’t miss the band concert in Kate Gould Park. NOSMOKING; NO PETS

The house is beautifully presented and the website is an accurate representation of what you find when you arrive. The kitchen and living room are spacious, well equipped and comfortable and the bedrooms are a good size and quiet overnight. The whole property was very clean, well-maintained and had everything we needed during our visit. The yard is a good size and attractive, 'though it does slope quite steeply in places.

We found the house really well located in terms of easy access (by car) to Chatham town centre and the Cape's towns and beaches. Chatham was the most attractive of the Cape towns that we visited - less obviously commercial than the likes of Hyannis or Provincetown - and has a number of very decent (and busy) restaurants and shops. 'The Captain's Table', 'The Goose at the Wayside Inn' and 'Chatham Squires' all did very good food at reasonable prices. The whale watching trip on the 'Portugese Princess' out of Provincetown was fantastic. Scenic route 6A along the top of the Cape is a lovely drive and the attractions such as the Heritage Collection & Gardens at Sandwich and the Natural History visitor centre were both well worth a visit. There's a great 'Pirate Cove' mini-golf course on the outskirts of Hyannis.

Being in the middle of the Cape the house made both Sandwich to the West and Provincetown to the North easily accessible - no problems with traffic in late August. It's a really good base to see the rest of the Cape. I'd recommend it pretty much to anyone.

We hired Summer Solstice for 1 week in July this year. It was more than we had hoped for. The rooms were well appointed and the house fantastically well equipped down to coal brickets for the BBQ. Despite the owners being absent we very much felt their presence in the house and it was as if we were their guests. Our boys aged 9 and 7 enjoyed exploring the reasonable size garden and we had some lovely meals on the terrace. The location is very convenient and we enjoyed being slightly away from the crowded main street of Chathman. We managed to see a few other towns in the area but were very pleased that we choose Chatham. We cannot recommended Summer Solstice or Chatham highly enough.

A great vacation at 'Summer Solstice'

This house is a great vacation get away. It is very well maintained, and offers everything a vacationer could want. My wife and I had found this home on the internet, and when we arrived were very pleased. All of our expectations were met and exceeded. The owners really take the time and energy to make sure their guests have all they need while on vacation. The owners are very accessible and accommodating. My wife and I have a two year old and the home was great for her as well. Inside the home was clean and comfortable, and the yard was a great bonus.
The home is located close enough to all you could want, but far away from the busy congestion of the down town area. We would certainly recommend this property to our family and friends. We look forward to staying there in the future.

I cannot recommend 'Summer Solstice' highly enough - its wonderfully restive and has restored our faith in vacation rental accomodation! The quality,standard and cleanliness is second to none and, coupled with the lovely,quiet backyard, this makes for the perfect vacation retreat. Our only disappoinment with our stay was having to leave at the end of our alloted time - we envied the lucky vacationers who would take our place! Our 17year old found it the perfect antidote to exam fever and, as a family, we restored our collective spirits within the calming and comfortable environment. The surrounding area and the village of Chatham are simply delightful - it evokes a simpler time and makes for an amazingly satisfying vacation experience.
We highly recommend 'Summer Solstice' and it has made us eager to return for a longer stay...there can be no better testament than saying it was a real home from home. Our memories of Summer 08 in New England are enhanced by our stay at 'Summer Solstice' and we're sure yours will be too...just don't try and book when we want to go!!!
